That is definetely one of the hardest things to do, I always remember the measurement of pipe cut and then subtract the sockets from measurement. What's left should be pipe showing to figure out how much you got in the fitting/unsure

Your should use CPVC solvent cement for better perfomance.

@@dckakadia after 30 years, the stuff I use hasn't been an issue. Used others and not so much on reliability for a hot tub.
