Put simply, few road cars sound as amazing as a Porsche flat 6 closing in on the red line.

Excuse me for saying but it’s not meant to be driven every day, it’s a week end Track car, of coarse I’d doesn’t have any amenities, if you want amenities buy a Carrera S, it’s more suitable for daily driving, stop picking holes in perfection.

Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think it came stock with a Radio, did it.

This is a car for the racetrack. Why is it being reviewed like a steet car?
@thekingmezger6 күн бұрын
because it is a street car.
@lobotomyboy6666 күн бұрын
@thekingmezger it's a street car for people who can't read. It was a street legal track day car.
@lobotomyboy6666 күн бұрын
@thekingmezger fortunately people stupid enough to buy a track day car for the road couldn't afford GT3 996s.

Good overall review. Longest one day ride on my 916 was 546 miles, stopping for fuel and a quick 10 minute rest every fuel fill-up. A tiring experience but doable at 62 years old, and fun too. Insulate the right leg of your riding gear from the knee down. Use a stuffed tank bag to help support a bit of your weight. I stuff my tank bag with traveling gear, goodies and conveniences that give it volume enough to rest your chest on it.

The stock fuel injection map was horrible. You wrists and tailbone hurt after 30 mins. And she is slow to turn. Other than that,it was a great bike.

Must be fun. I’d love one with a k20… love the look of it but hate to work on any German cars.

I have to agree with Mr Tadao Baba, the 954RR is the best Fireblade. I do love the dual headlights on the original Fireblade though.

Wow. What a sound at higher revs. Almost sounds like a German dive bomber!

Cold starting... that Mezger engine sounds like someone's shaking a bucket of bolts in a metal bucket for a good few minutes. It's not great, is it, until you think that race car engines all sound like they're broken. I only have the 996 Turbo and I always wince when I fire it up when it's cold!

Love it. The fact that you continue to drown yourself out with the wailing Mezger exhaust note just sells it for me! Also, I love the interior. It's thought-through and different (ie doesn't look like another German car interior). Sure, it's probably more basic but then it's a sports car not a generic, luxury, 4 door family car with a powerful engine.

Oh right, so the 996 mk1 gt3 didn't count and your 996mk2 is the first proper one that was "refined" and "better". But all the subsequent ones that were refined and better are not better. Curious. It sounds very much like you're saying "my car is the best one because it's the one i own."
@thekingmezgerАй бұрын
Mk1 was never sold where I live. As far as “refinements”, the subsequent models are just that: new models. They are not an Mk3/4/5/6/7/8 etc

Many moons ago, I was having some warranty work done on my V11 Sport. The shop gave me a Ducati 748R as a courtesy bike. I had to take it back after just one mile! I could not lift my head up far enough to be able to see where I was going! Maybe if I had been 19 years old..........!

Fantastic video (and channel). I echo your comments, nothing quite like the experience of driving this generation of GT3. I have only had mine two months, already added 1600 miles because I can't stop driving her! IYKYK. I chose this car over many other options, including: new Cayman GTS 4.0, 991.1 GT3, 911 50th Anniversary, Cayman GT4, and even a 991.2 manual GT3. The other cars are all great in their own way, but NONE of them gave me the same connected driving experience or put a smile on my face like the 996 GT3. I agree...you can't explain it. The perfect car if you love driving!

Previous owner (‘99) here. Have a good listen kids. Unfortunately, the carbs on this one require synching. No, that motor doesn’t sound “good”, regardless what the camera guy says. Rose colored glasses…This particular machine requires a tune-up. 👍 Gas tank would bruise your chest when tucking…but otherwise incredible machines.
