Funny, MP4 was my first thought when you asked the question of what to buy if you sold the GT3. I'd love an MP4. But I think I'd love the GT3 more. The 308 is definitely not a comparable car, not even in the wildest of dreams. The S2K is probably the closet match for the GT3. Oh, you literally just said that after I typed it, LOL.

Great video! Thanks. As a fellow 996 owner (not GT3) I can say the following: get an early 996 C2 manual with cable throttle which is the lightest 996 a part from the RS. Put a KW set on it, decat x-pipe, headers and sport muffler. It sounds better than a stock GT3 and I can still put my 2,5 year old son in the back with his child seat. With a proper tune mine delivers 330hp on the Dyno. I always wanted a GT3 but having a family, a modified 996 C2 is the best of both worlds for me. It will never be a collectors item, which is fine by me because I then also don't have to worry about it so much. I had the engine rebuilt with improved internals so all the issues such as IMS and bore scoring are gone. And I love the car. Those bashing on the 996 never drove a properly modified one I guess.

Had my 6.2 GT3 Clubbie for 10 years now and absolutely agree with all your comments. Also have an RS60 Boxster for 'softer' days and a '98 R1 for the full brain out experience. Mines a keeper too!!!

I loved my speed yellow 996.1 GT3 club sport especially after a Manthey K400 upgrade and a few other minor mods. Best car I've ever owned and very much missed.

I have to agree with you. My turbo checks every box for me. I know you had one and the gt3 is a different animal, but I bet if had a gt3 it would also check all the boxes for me! It’s my daily driver and I do everything with it🙂

I suggest you try a 993 RS, if you think this will ruin you. That will mess you up totally, especially when you hit 4.5k rpm 😁🥰, once you listen to that engine, nothing else will do this side of a McLaren F1🥰
