I just want to tell u that I watch a youtube video about 2 doctors talking about walking and 10k steps a day thing and as much as I remember they said the most important thing is the 1st 7k steps and if u walk more is gonna be beneficial but not like the 1st 7k steps also they said that over walking like 12k or 15k a day gonna hurt the body rather than be beneficial

Hello. Great video, lovely vibes. I was wondering - when do you pull up this menu? Is it when you feel the urge to scroll through youtube? Or is it when you have some time on your hands and are not sure what to do, and don't want to default to your standard youtube habit?
@maferbriz5 күн бұрын
great question, I try to pull it out when I feel the urge to scroll. Sometimes when I have free time I try to sit in my boredom because it is uncomfortable for me now that i’m used to being constantly stimulated. Hope this helped

the point No. 7 is really important to make these changes sustainable imo. especially in the beginning, visible change shouldnt be the goal. the driver has to be wanting to feel better about oneself. that way, every little thing you do counts as an improvement. looking skinnier or more ripped is just a minor detail that has nothing to do with our bodily functionality anyway
@maferbrizАй бұрын
absolutely and it is also the “harder” goal cause it involves a mindset shift, but it changes everything

Just started running and i got really bad shin splints after I got too excited and did a 23 mile week with a 10K long run and was out for two weeks. During this rest time, I couldn't even jog so I just played basketball and trained/stretched calves a lot since weak calves can cause shin splints. I also did the towel on the ground exercise and grabbing with your toes and that really activated the exact part in my shins that hurt. I've been able to do a few light 5k runs since, but I've really focused on shortening my stride length and taking more steps while landing beneath me and I haven't felt anything from my shins yet. My calves have been really feeling it which I theorize is that they're taking more of the load instead of my shins which is good. I hope you feel better!

It sucks that getting excited about running got us injured but those are some great recovery tips, I’m definitely going to train my calves to see if it helps my shins, thanks.

I wanted to write it down so it is easier to come back to: Weightlifting for muscles Pre-run: clothes (whatever you have preferably a mix of polyesters and spandex to avoid chafing), food high in carbs, dynamic stretches & warmup Run: start small, walking, then speed walking and finally a short run. Increase distance or time over weeks, don’t rush it Post-run: stretching (a cooldown walk is also welcomed), hydration, food (high in protein and carbs) Sleep 8-9 hours minimum Don’t run every day, start with 2 runs a week. Remember to enjoy it with some good music or good company :)
