It needs to be cleared of sand, derbies, and loose concrete so that the acoustic connection between the sensor and the concrete will be good at all tested points.

Hi. Thanks for your comment Not all piles are created equal 🙂 This is not a pile we tested - The video was sent to us by one of our loyal users. This is probably a short pile (8-12m). the soil seems to be sandy-clay- which means it is a stable, dry hole. Those are really ideal conditions. There is probably some putty on the sensor. You do not have to stick the sensor to the pile; just press the sensor to get a good acoustic coupling.

In general, we recommend testing on a new site all the deep pile foundations on site. This is because the cost of the test relative to the damage it may save makes no sense in doing otherwise. If you need to test a pile understructure of an old building, you need to consider additional factors, like building age, reliability of available data on the foundations, and how well the tested results correlate with that data and planned changes to the building or structure, and their use.

Standard depth=80m Up to 150m is practical

It only measures the inclination It is lightweight and one man with no crane can run the measurement

@@dxbfortune The depth is a by-product of the inclination measurement, as there is a very accurate depth wheel being used as part of the measurement. When the centralizer reaches the bottom of the borehole you get the reading of its depth

Good question. Since there are several tubes in a pile, we measure in all of them and average the result or kick-out faulty tube. This proved to be very effective, as the cage must be aligned with the pile direction inherently
