These two are kindred spirits. What a fantastic interview. Theirs was sincerely a mutual admiration society there. How does one contain their admiration when exchanging stories with their idol. I have no idea, but I hope that Liberty got to continue his relationship with Dino. Two of the most under the radar, not underrated, drummers ever. RIP Dino Danelli, you are missed.

What a great guy! I got to see Dino in 1966 and 1970. I also got to see CTA (before they were famous) open for Jimi Hendrix in 1969. So, I also got to see Danny Seraphine and Mitch Mitchell in the same night. I am so fortunate to have been a young drummer in those days witnessing history. Dino will always live on in my heart as an inspiration. What a modest guy with wonderful talent! RIP, Dino.

Dino and Liberty - to stereotypical Jersey boys, from back when NJ was a really cool place to live. Dino was, in my opinion, one of the best ever and Liberty is no slouch, although he doesn't get enough credit. RIP, Dino - you were one of my first drum idols when I was just a kid starting out.

I saw the Young Rascals when they played in Charlottesville, Virginia in the early 1970's and clearly remember Dino Danelli throwing his drumsticks about 30 feet straight upward and without looking catching them when they fell and didn't miss a beat.

Dino was a childhood hero of mine. Maybe 22 years ago, I was in the Long Island Drum Shop, trying to get an old Premier snare drum repaired, and they had one of his Premier kits with the green, white and red stripes on the shelf. I was floored. RIP to one of the coolest ever. And Mr. DeVitto is no slouch, either.

Dino was so humble and gives credit to those he admired. He was just the best. My friend and I met the Rascals in 1969 - we were only 14 at the time. I fell in love with Felix and my girlfriend fell in love with Eddie. The whole group were gentlemen, signed our autograph book, took photos and we were hooked from then on.

Without a doubt, my favorite drummer of all time...technique, musicianship, stage presence, even though I loved Buddy Rich. Dino Danelli is the only drummer that I couldn't take my eyes off of. God bless him. The Rascals are really in a class of their own.
