Wow.... thank you for uploading this. I dont even know how to feel. I miss my parents. My sister...Everyone and everything is just gone, now. I remember the glass in the food court..... the smell of the water fountains. The sound of your voice echoing off the brick floor... The toy corner in Montgomery Ward... The mysterious computer section in best buy, browsing CDs in Media Play.....

Worked here as a Assistant manager in a store, then came back as the Dm, and evenutally become a RVP. I knew every last in and out about this mall :)

Despite being born in 2000, after this mall's downfall had already started, my grandma would bring he here all the time, and then later I did Tae Kwon Do there until we moved in 2011, I'll miss those sky murals with the clouds on the ceiling, that was my favorite thing about this place back then and still is, glad this video exists as a way to look back on a chunk of my childhood, even if I wasn't alive at the time this was filmed

Was the arcade called "PowerPlay"?

Yes! Originally, it was “Yesterdays” from 1981-1990 then renamed “Power Play” 1990-2020 (end of mall’s existence)

Hi I recently got a sign and its rusted on the internal side on the right panel. Any tips on best way to remove the rust?
@Yesterdays925 ай бұрын
Carefully open the sign, lightly sand with sandpaper or a coarse sponge. Wipe clean with a rag and alcohol.

Do you know what happened to the arcade machines at the Power Play arcade once it finally closed? I wanted to get some of those so badly but they closed very suddenly without warning, I was hoping I'd see something from there end up somewhere else but no sign of any of their machines since they closed.

Power Play’s offices are in Mississippi. They took them all back.

How did you get 'the market' sign to the entrance of the san jacinto mall cafeteria????
@Yesterdays924 ай бұрын
I asked mall management over and over, and after several NO’s… they finally let me get them. No logic in letting them get destroyed.
