Very beautiful... I play the trombone, and would like to make music like this for backingground track and inspiration for improvisation on the trombone. I hear a lot of trombone sounds in your music. Best regards from Denmark.

Hej Signe. Godt at høre - det er en fantastisk synth, så den skal du nok blive glad for. Subharmonicon er også rigtig spændende. Håber du har det godt. :)

Multiple listenings now, and never gets boring. Well done. Amazing sounds that are very reminiscent of Carlos' Moog lines in The Shining soundtrack. Don't remember my Behringer Model D ever sounding quite like this.

The idea to introduce panning is a great idea! I just don't understand how the LFO rate affects the panning. Is it because the LFO manipulates the amplitude in the left and right channels differently, turning one louder than the other and therefore moving the sound from left to right?
@ClausGahrn2 ай бұрын
Yes, the LFO controls the amplitude of the signal in the left and right channel (VCA out and VC Mix out). KB out controls the LFO rate. Higher notes makes the panning faster.

Hey :) I have a few questions about the Moog Mother-32 - maybe you can help me ;) I have a Moog Mother-32. It is connected to the Motu-M2 interface with an instrument cable and a MIDI cable. It all goes to Ableton Live 11 Suite. I know how to record sound to the Audio track from the Mother-32, but I don't know how to record a MIDI track (unless it's not possible at all?). There is an External Instrument plugin on the MIDI track. All inputs/outputs/channels are set up rather correctly - there is a signal everywhere. I also have a ROLI Seaboard Block M keyboard and the question is can I play with it so that I can simultaneously control the sound etc. with the Mother-32? (i.e. I play on Roli, spin everything on Mother-32 and record it all to Audio or MIDI track. I can't do that :( I record ROLI without any problems to MIDI tracks with any VST plugins I want. I record Mother-32 to Audio tracks. However, I don't know how to connect it all together :( Thanks in advance for all the advice ;)
@ClausGahrn3 ай бұрын
Unfortunately is it not possible to record MIDI from the Mother-32 as there is no MIDI Out. You can only send MIDI to the M-32. If you use External Instrument on a MIDI track in Ableton, you should be able to control the Mother-32 with your ROLI. You can record the MIDI data from the ROLI on this MIDI track. If you want to record the audio coming from the Mother-32, you need to create a separate audio track.
@Anatha93 ай бұрын
@@ClausGahrn Thank you for the quick reply :) It looks complicated :) I record guitars, Roli and Push 2 through various VSTs or effects like Qyuad Cortex. However, I cannot handle the Mother-32 recording "smoothly". When I have something recorded on a MIDI track and I start recording an Audio track using Mother-32, strange things happen... What is recorded on the MIDI track is played back and can be modified a bit using the Mother-32 when I record an Audio track. I don't know if that's the point of playing with Mother-32 and recording (?) I don't know if I can figure it out I wanted to start recording Ambient but I can't handle it physically :(

Every time I feel demotivated or stuck, your work reminds me of why I started making music. You give me the strength to keep going and to continue experimenting. I apologize for the delay!

Hi, I love your videos and was wondering if I could get your opinion. I have a matriarch and grandmother, do you think there would be any value in adding a subharmonicon or mother32, to the setup for generative ambient or do you think I should just stick with what I have? I feel like the subharmonicon’s dual sequencers and polyrhythms have more options than the sequencers on the matriarch and grandmother. Am I incorrect in thinking that way?
@ClausGahrn6 ай бұрын
Thanks! I think the Subharmonicon is a very unique instrument both in terms of the sequencer and the sound itself, and I really enjoy using it in my setup. However, the sequencer is quite different to a traditional sequencer, and it takes a bit of getting used to. I approach the Subharmonicon in a different way than the Grandmother, and I find that it works well for me in my generative work.

The low rumbling notes that sound like a ship’s fog horn. Is that just the M32 or are you using FX (reverb aside)? The rumbling, raspyness in particular. Sounds amazing
