There are plenty of Christians in Tanzania. Respect people’s freedom to practice the religion of their choice. Africans are not your project. Stop with the infantilising and ‘White saviour’ complex. Muslim’s don’t need a bunch of 20 something Americans forcing Christianity down their throats. The audacity.

You can plug in your power into out lemo socket, they are hardwired, “out” mark is just confusing, in reality any of them can be used as in or out, they just like power strip. Which firmware version are you using? And do you have any issues with joystick on yours? On mine joystick sometimes sticks to left or right, but i am not sure, may be it is firmware glitch, i am running 6.0-beta for some time. Overall my opinion on this monitor: it is not a good value for it’s price, if you are paying your own money for it. Build quality and engineering just isn’t there : of course body is rugged, but silicon caps for sockets are badly designed, bottom mount is badly designed, and has proprietary locking pin, instead of standard arri, weight is high, joystick is flimsy-wobbly and feels cheap. In addition it is incompatible with teradek modules for cine7, you need to buy teradek version from the start, or use standalone modules, which are cumbersome to mount and connect. Accessories are overpriced: sunhood 200 bucks, battery plates 250 bucks. For a 3 grand monitor at least one battery plate should be included.

Tip back for you Myles--at 17:53 you are pushing in and booming down, but you stop booming on the arm with the bones barely below level and bend your knees to get lower. The only time it is necessary to do that is when your Steadicam arm is about to bottom out and/or your own arms are at full extension, and you still need to get lower. Save your knees whenever you can--your future 50 yr old self will thank you!

Looks like a great new monitor. Weird how it makes the old one suddenly look really 2000s. I'd be interested to see the Arri control if you have time! $500 is maybe spicy if it's kind of limited in terms of menu access, but it would help to see it in action.
@MylesShank6 ай бұрын
It’s a solid upgrade! Agreed, $500 is so much for software and a cable lol But it’s not bad when you consider the Arri EFV is around $10k! Should help keep the Mini “mini”
@tjh__6 ай бұрын
@@MylesShank Yeah it should be more like $200 if you can't go into the camera menu properly. The CCM-1 is so so nice as it has access to everything in the camera, but obviously very expensive and specific to the MILF/A35. I've really been eyeing up an Ultra 5 w/ camera control for the Mini LF to do small builds with a battery belt etc. The MVF-2 is pretty heavy for this sort of thing, but is so integral to how the camera is controlled.
@MylesShank6 ай бұрын
@@tjh__ the brightness on the CCM-1 is about half the brightness of the Ultra and Ultrabright monitors too which is a bummer. If it were cheaper, I would probably consider it. The Ultra 5 with control is so nice. I‘ll eventually pickup an Ultra 5 but for one-man op scenarios, the 7” screen is nice for grabbing focus when I don’t have an AC.

I have a small entry level "steadicam" for some corporate shoots. Max weight 10kg for my setup. One time I had a teleprompter on it and the weight was pretty much at the maximum, I was very surprised about the amount of "sail" area I had when we did one shot outside, it was rather windy and I had to grip the post a lot harder than I originally thought. The teleprompter hood really caught the wind

Can we output any of the screens regardless of the type of input?

That's one great video. That Battery block sucks. That vibrates a lot. Just noticed it yesterday on a shoot while going through Stairs. Put a piece of Wooden block or wedge underneath it. but don't forget to wrap it around with a gaffer's tape so it won't put scratches under the body. thanks again for the info.

As a 1st I’ve worked with Steadicam Ops a lot before, figured maybe there’s more I can improve on! I usually give free reign to the Op after slimming the build and extra hands if necessary, but weighing down the opposite side of an Innovative Cart so it doesn’t tip over makes sense and good to keep in mind for the future! :) Great work, very clear and easy to understand, thanks so much!
