Thanks for the tip on the burton, they discontinued it unfortunately but i managed to find one. It’s amazing, perfect for my needs.

July 2020 update: I'm still using this same Pelican case and I bought the same backpack in black. Still my two favorite travel-ready bags!

I had the Focus 30 for the longest time. There are better looking bags but you get so much gear into that thing! Now I have the Gitzo 45l and I swear, the Burton has more room! The straps are lacking some comfort though

I've had troubles fitting my pelican carry-on in regional plane's overhead bins. Thanks for the Burton recommendation. It looks more functional than other non-camera backpacks I own and it doesn't scream "photo gear bag."

Hello, I left the Burton in the basement. And now I found it while i moved to another flat:-). Used only once ... The quality is really top, but the space, or better the dividers are not so good. I've been trying for 2 hours to accommodate a Sony A9 with 100-400 installed. Plus two smaller lenses. But I need access from above. And if another lens sits on it, I have to have room for the 100-400. I go crazy. That goes simply with my Tenba 15 DNA. I think, it's time kick it away :-)

Hey dude great video! I have owned a few Burton bags and each bag has a lifetime warranty so for that broken buckle you can just send it in and they will fix it or just give you a new one. Burton has amazing customer service, hope this helps.

Problem is that although many European airlines will have the same linear requirement of 115 cm, the size has to be within 55x40x20 cm. The Pelican case is too big.

Awesome video bro! I’m wondering, is there any significant space to throw in some clothes for a multi day trip? Or just the top pouch?

This is great Myles - how heavy are these bags and would they even meet carry on weight requirements? (7kg)? They look fairly heavy
@MylesShank5 жыл бұрын
Israel Baldago you can pack them to be lighter if you need. The backpack is a standard weight for most backpacks but the Pelican is typically pretty heavy. I fly Delta 90% of the time and I’ve never had carry on weight issues.

How water resistant/proof is the burton back pack? Last thing you want is to be hiking and have a storm come in on you and your gear....
@MylesShank4 жыл бұрын
MASTUR BIKER it’s not waterproof but the material seems to repel water a bit if it’s drizzling. I’d recommend a rain cover.

You can carry that backpack as a carry-on personal item in addition to the pelican?
@MylesShank7 жыл бұрын
Chris Mai yes! With two exceptions: every airline let's me put it under the seat (except British Airways...every time) and the key is to not stuff the backpack top compartment super full so if you get questioned you can show them that it squishes down to fit under the seat.
@ChrisMaiMusic7 жыл бұрын
Oh that's great to hear! Do you recommend splitting up your gear between bags? Or do you just throw all your camera equipment in the pelican and clothes in the backpack when you travel?
@MylesShank7 жыл бұрын
Depends on what I need to carry. Sometimes I'll use a carry-on sized rolly bag that I'll pack clothes, batteries and Gldiecam in and keep the laptop, lenses and camera components in the backpack.

Hi! Great review! May I ask how are the shoulder straps of the Focus pack? Are they comfortable? Seem pretty thin to me. Thanks!

Tedd Jong they're actually very comfortable. That pack has been used a lot but I just bought the same bag again but in black and the shoulder straps are great. Plus the new waist belt helps remove that weight from your shoulders 👍🏼
