I was thinking of doing a trip and fishing the black river with some friends, do you recommend fly fishing the river or can it be done on regular rod and reel? also what flys are you using in the video?

It’s a pretty special place up there. Haven’t been for awhile, but a lot of good memories. Hooked a lot on terrestrials, ants and hoppers. Good sized browns in there too. Nice job

First a trophy is when you join the 12lb. German Brown Club. Second, that fish is thin! Starving thin! Like trapped in a pool thin. Low water after high water always traps fish. Last, no one uses a cheesy reel from Walmart like that@
