Gila and Brown Trout on the Fly!

On this trek we travelled north to Payson for the day to fish some creeks and rivers for some stocked Gila trout and wild browns! We hooked into a ton of Gila trout through some great drifts off waterfalls and some great flowing water. Later in the day we started targeting some wild browns and had our best luck with various streamers! It was another great trip with over 15 fish to the net, a beautiful 16 inch brown, and unfortunately a lost fishpond net while crossing waste high in the river! Beautiful catches🤙. If you don't mind me asking where is Payson is this? Did they stock gilas in a lot of places recently up there?

If you are looking for gilas, the east verde river and oak creek has them now! The gilas in the video were from the east verde!

How do y'all find these places? I've fished a few creeks around Payson, such as Tonto, but the creeks are generally narrow and shallow. It's not easy finding good holes.
