This game feels so weird

I remember a bunch of general grumbling about fable but I didn't play upon release so it was just a fun game I got from a friend. Totally understand the issue with difficulty rating though, I burned through the game incredibly quick and barely remembered what the plot was. The most memorable point was how many of the women npcs had the same ridiculously stereotypical peasant English accent that sounded more like a Monty Python skit player was voicing them.

Fable 1 is actually the Only fable game where you Can die, in every other one, you just get knocked down, lose some EXP and/or get a Scar. However since Resurrection Phials are more common than leaf on a tree, it's never an issue, and when playing on Heroic difficulty "health potions will be scarce" is a load of BS, when i played it, i ended up with Hundreds before i even reached Knothole Glade, and the enemies were Barely any stronger. Still one of my fav RPGs honestly, pretty sure it's the most replayed game i've ever had during my 20+ years of gaming.

developer missed out on the: "Ensure f2p players fight and win against f2p players for the first few fights. Allows for dopamine and hook. Then introduce p2p against f2p and have them chase dopamine with their wallets."

I played the game whitout paying real money (except for purchasing the game itself of course) and yes the limited inventory space is somewhat challenging but not to bad

Zenimax has recently buckled down so hard on QoL updates to the base game, they're actually taking a break from making new expansions to work full-time on polishing the content they already have. The actual roadmap reveal is still a few months off, but stuff they've teased include: - Overhauling the "feel" of combat to make it more satisfying - Adding new story content to older zones - Addressing player concerns about overland being "too easy" - Experimenting with new PvP formats - Improving the new player experience with updated tutorials, graphics updates to old/starter zones, updating where/when important quests are offered... and most importantly, making untrained mounts _significantly_ faster than walking

Played from the beta, played everyday for 3 years, then HoT came out, ruined the game for me. That and the lack of expansions, game is 13 years old and they've put out like 4 expansions, and their living world content takes like an hour to beat. They really ruined a fun game.
