What is a good size rim size for out cars? Someone on a FB book group said to not go bigger than 17s
@NetsGarage3 ай бұрын
Hello. Nice question! 15’s (6gc factory size) Look nice. 16’s (7th gen celica factory size) - I’m running a white set of these 7gc wheels on my white convertible Celica. 17’s fit quite nicely. I was running 17’s on my black convertible if you wanna look at my videos and see what the car looked like, they’re the black and blue Koenig wheels. The car was also lowered, which will affect the look too. I’ve seen someone run 18’s before, but at that point you’re sacrificing tire size to make it work, and thus risk getting more flats. So I’d agree that 17’s are the biggest I’d personally want to go on these Celica’s.

Just found your video, why did you install the Mishimoto Radiator? Did your engine heat up?
@NetsGarage5 ай бұрын
Hi! 👋🏻 My old radiator was cracked and leaking coolant. So I decided to upgrade to the Mishimoto performance radiator, which has a lifetime warranty!The factory radiator is plastic and the Mishimoto is aluminum, because of this the Mishi won’t crack as easily and it dissipates heat much more efficiently. Win. Win.
@lightswitch3425 ай бұрын
@@NetsGarage I have a 97, and the engine temp would climb a little bit when at idle in traffic. Not enough that it will overheat, I am in Texas, and I noticed when we reach triple digits this summer it would occur. I will troubleshoot the fans first and all but the radiator looks pretty new when I bought it.
@AnnettesPerspective5 ай бұрын
@@lightswitch342- The fans is a great place to start. The relay may have gone bad. Also, is your air conditioning on when this overheating occurs? If so, does turning the AC off fix the issue? It could be the AC fan relay isn’t turning on the fan, which the car would really need when you’re stopped and air isn’t moving through the radiator to cool the car.
@lightswitch3425 ай бұрын
@@AnnettesPerspective yes that is what happens, is the ac fan on the passenger side?
@NetsGarage5 ай бұрын
@@lightswitch342 - Yes, the AC fan is on the passenger side. There is a black relay box under the hood next to the windshield washer fluid fill cap. Under the relay cover is a diagram, it'll say Fan 2 and Fan 3. I'm pretty sure Fan 2 is the one you'll want to replace for the issue you're having. I had this same exact thing happen to me on my '99 vert Celica on an incredibly hot day, and replacing that relay fixed my issue. Good luck! I hope this helps.

I'm hurting here on info on these verts! also if u don't mind I'll have some questions from time to time on these Celica verts so I'll just post the questions in the KZbin chat here. The accident was so sad, I really miss driving the black vert. She was the best little car! Unfortunately the frame is bent and there was metal crumpling throughout the entire rear end of the car, so I'm not going to be able to fix her. I do still have the car in my garage, so she's officially a "parts car" now. I do have a few other Celicas, so I do plan to creating more Celica content in the future. Feel free to message me here with Celica questions and I'll do the best I can. Thanks for supporting my channel. :) Happy driving to you and your Celica.

Hey net I had a question about the speakers amp!.. I have the 8 speaker set up in my celica and I threw away the OEM amp that was under the driver seat cause it was all rusted and it sounded like loose bits inside of the amp anyway!.. but do I need that OEM amp from under the seat or can I bypass that?.. I'm running an aftermarket pioneer set up!
@AnnettesPerspective5 ай бұрын
@@M-Cee-U-See- Hi! So it depends on the wiring harness that you’re using. Some harnesses plug into and use the factory amp, and other newer head units come with amps built in and the harness that comes with it bypasses the factory amp anyway.
@M-Cee-U-See5 ай бұрын
Ok I see. I am in the process of ordering all the speakers now! Also I live in Northern California San Francisco area and there are plenty of junk yards "Picknpull" as it's called here within very reasonable driving distances about 12 all together so i'm fortunate enough to have access to enough donor celicas so I'm collecting parts for these cars now!.. but is there anything you happen to need or need extra of ? Let me know and I'll get it cause I'm not seeing as many of these 6gen celicas in the yards out here compared to 5-15yrs ago finding these 6gens in the yards on any given day is a thing of the past now clearly! so I'm going to collect as much mostly OEM parts off these cars that I can while I can! but even having access to 12 junk yards out here ,these 6th gens in particular are getting pretty rare to find in the junk yards now unfortunately!😑. But yea let me know and we can work out a next to nothing price! but mostly shipping cost. ttyl 👍

@NetsGarage8 ай бұрын
Hi Brian. I have the OEM TRD strut bar that I purchased from a fellow Celica owner several years ago. I had it powder coated in blue/purple glitter, because I was feeling fancy. I don't have any personal experience with the Laile Beatrush strut bar, however I did to a quick search on the FB groups about it. It seems that some people have installed in on their Celica's, one person mentioned it rubbing at one spot, but others said there were no clearance issues at all. Perhaps it depends on what engine set up you have. Laile Beatrush makes a bar for the front and rear. So when you order yours make sure it's for the front, as I don't think the rear strut bar will work for the convertible, the top mechanics get in the way. I hope that helps out, good luck with your strut bar!

On the 94 5s the block drain plug is towards the drivers side, and it’s one big 14mm BOLT. It’s in such a weird crammed position it took me a min to reach it. Anyways Just took it off and barely anything came out, just a lil leak😅 is that normal? Update: put back the drain plug 1/5 of the way, took it out to make sure I’m not cross-threading, and then boom: a whole bunch of coolant spilling all over me. Good thing I still had my bucket right next to me. Putting the drain plug back, however, was the hardest part. Took me 30-40 mins to get this single bolt in there.
@NetsGarage8 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks for the update, it's wild that coolant came out after a while. I'm wondering if your engine cooled off and moved the coolant about the system, or maybe something was blocking it? Bizarre. Anyway, the good news is you were able to drain the back of the block. :) And yes, that bolt is SOOOOO hard to get to. Such a PITA. Good luck with flushing your system. I hope your car is running smoothly.

Hey thx for this video btw! But will this radiator fit on a 1.8 7a-fe engine?
@NetsGarage Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you. 😊 Excellent question. So, I just looked into this for you. On the 7a engine, the lower radiator hose is in a different spot from where it is on the 5s and 3s engines. So it’s probably not the best option for you to get the Mishimoto radiator, unless you want to do some re-routing of the lower radiator hose. Next best option is stock, if Toyota has one, otherwise I’d check out Rock Auto and choose from their selection. There are differences depending on which transmission you have (auto or manual), so you’ll also want to take that into account. Good luck. 🍀

The fabric was much improved and didn’t soak up any moisture! Yay! So that leak was solved. However, there’s a spot where the rear quarter window doesn’t meet up perfectly with the top, so there’s a little gap there that leaks. It’s more a design flaw than anything. Hi! Excellent question. So, I bought my coilovers new. I accidentally messed up the preload on one coilover when I installed it (it’s the one shown in this video). The other 3 coils were still factory pre load setting. The one corner, front left, where pre load had accidentally been adjusted when installing was super bouncy and it did not ride well. I could feel in that one corner that something wasn’t right while I was driving. In fact, that error was the inspiration for creating this video, I wanted to teach others not to make the same mistake that I did. So if you got your coils from factory, I would 100% recommend leaving pre load alone, and only adjusting the ride height to suit your needs. Good luck with your coil install. Thanks for watching, I’m so glad this video was useful for you. 😀🔧
