Wow, this video brings back memories. The only mistake you've made is to label this game a pre-season friendly when, as the report makes clear, it was actually a fund raiser played at the end of September in response to our social club having burned down the previous month. What a magnificent gesture it was from the then City manager Brian Horton to bring along his entire first team squad. It was so appreciated by Pacey that he made Brian the honorary president of Droylsden FC in recognition of his remarkable show of support. Thanks so much for posting this. It's something all our fans of today should know about.

George is the literal Epitome of Droylsden FC: 'Someone flying high, to only suffer a massive setback. To then dust themself off, and go again, fighting to get back to where they were before' Could be talking about either George or the club! So happy that Westy is back on the pitch!

@@mrbooth7 this was such a powerful and emotional interview mate and was one that for me will always stand out, it was so raw and honest and I'm glad he got to have his say about everything he's been through, he's so genuine and that's why he'll always be a fan favourite because regardless to wether he's on or off the pitch what you see is what you get and he's always so honest 🩸💯

What a wonderful interview. No wonder Killer has quickly made himself a legend at Droylsden Football Club. Am I right in suspecting the older family members he refers to here include the Connor brothers, Jim and Joe? If I am right, and for those of you who are too young to remember them in their playing days, let me tell you here and now that not only were those fellas two truly GREAT non-League footballers, they were also two of the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet. So if indeed young Killer does have Connor blood in his veins, it's no surprise to me what a terrific lad he is both on and off the park. Proud of you, son, as I know are all Bloods fans and so, too, must your family be. Keep up the great work and all the best not only for this season but for the rest of your playing career!

Some great action here, but this was in the bad old days when our diehard fans were sadly thin on the ground and desperately holding the fort. Thank goodness the cavalry has now arrived and we now have an army of wonderful supporters who have helped turn the Butcher's Arms into a fortress!
