No I got my purple belt. It was a nightmare to be honest. It was actually embarrassing to post, but that is what I signed up for. After about three and a half hours of testing I tore cartilage in my rib so I didn't finish. We had to make that part up later unfortunately. Any black belt I roll with destroys me, so it is difficult to say. However, the most impressive black belt I've ever had the pleasure to watch live is Rafael Mendes. Watching him against other accomplished black belts is a awe inspiring. Come visit our gym if you're ever in Northern California. facebook.com/sensotrainingcenter

Hi Don. I have really enjoyed your documentation of your Black belt test journey, as have many others I'm sure. I'd like to wish you a speedy recovery, and see you continuing to lead by example. All the best.

Glad to say that Mitch is doing fantastic. He received a liver transplant and is recovering quickly. His O2 stats are still low, but he officially just walked his first mile. His friend, another officer in San Francisco, donated his kidney and is also recovering. It is amazing to me that he risked his own life and well being to save another. I think everyone can learn from such a selfless act.

That is impressive. To be a group that judges itself by the way it improves the community around it is pretty extraordinary.
