The general rules we have guide our lives and society, so the outcome depends on what rules we choose to use. Music, in particular, has a very wide range of rules, and when we choose the most useful ones, I'm sure we can really appreciate its meaning. Thanks so much for your comment making me so glad and I look forward to seeing you in the future with more great videos.

Did you just speed up the video? For what?
@JazzyBrissy6 күн бұрын
After reading your comment and observing this video, yes, I think I could think like you. But it wasn't applied any speed editing on this video, because if it was, the solo intro at the beginning and the band sound afterward wouldn't have the same key or pitch. That's a very interesting point. The parts where I was soloing fast mainly presented chromatic scale. The point is "connection", and if you listen to it over again, you could find out. It's very simple when you know it, I just played it fast. Thanks for your comment. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Yes Brandon. I have couple of questions actually. lol. What is the model of that guitar and what's your rig setup for this performance. I love the way you incorporate modern sounds to express yourself. You are a very soulful player!

The hollowbody archtop guitar I play is a copy of the Gibson ES175. The body is similar in size to Ibanez's GB series, but slightly thicker. I replaced the pickups with Epiphone's Probucker and set the pickups very close to the strings. My main guitar synth effector is the Boss SY200. What makes Pat Metheny so great to me is that he gave me a simple, practical way to fight the conceptual wars of jazz improvisation. There are pros and cons to that of course, but he helped me overcome my limitations by how to use the simplest tools at my fingertips. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hello, I'm Brandon Lee, Looper Soloist Jazz Artist from the future. I am based in Brisbane, Australia and known as 'Jazzy Brissy'. The following two videos are a testimonial about how I create backing sounds and improvise in real time. The loop + drum loop pedal I use is the BOSS RC10R. Do you have any other questions? Thanks for your comment as well. Please don't forget to subscribe. Please check out my other educational videos in the TUTORIAL section (First page on my KZbin channel PLAYLISTS --->TUTORIAL). Nice bro how do you do it only looping? I want to do it I have the hx stomp but don’t let me loop for too long 👀
@JazzyBrissyАй бұрын
Thank you for your question. I don't use the HX Stomp, and most of looper pedals require you to play and record all the instruments, but the Boss RC10R I use, it works with the drum loops. So, I can create band sound by myself. Is there anything else I can help you with? Please watch my video might help answer your questions. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3TMXoVvetpjpbs

Cause I've heard some of this guitars I can say clearly that they all will sound times better with proper amplification. Or just because they're miced with just phone.
@JazzyBrissy2 ай бұрын
Absolutely, I agree you. I only recorded the lowest state on purpose to compare. One tip is to take your guitar to a guitar shop and compare other new guitars you have been curious about. Because even cheap and lower quality instruments actually sound better in a good recording equipment environment and when you edit sound of them, the results are better. Thanks for your comment.
@nihirash2 ай бұрын
@@JazzyBrissy I've left comment for some folks who "too literally" listening similar videos. All of these guitars should sound good and jazzy. But they need setup(usually in shops they came with too small gauge of strings like .10 or .11) and correct amplification that usually not always under hands in music stores.
@JazzyBrissy2 ай бұрын
@@nihirash Yes, that's a very sharp point. The gauge of the strings you mentioned can only be estimated by imagination because you can't really change all the strings in the shop, but that's a big part of it. I use 0.13 because I think that's the right gauge for my picking and tone, but guitar sellers don't go that far with their customers, because the imagination of the customer is what leads to the purchase, right?

Hello Lee, your videos are inspiring, in addition to the playability and mastery of the guitar, your videos are inspirations, they give me that pleasant feeling, of a beautiful day with sunshine and happy people. Some videos look like they're from the 80s and 90s, that's magical to me. That's why I love Ronny Jordan, because his music resonates with that feeling, as do his videos and songs. I am very grateful to have found your channel. Thank you very much my friend. Receive my hug. - - Rodrigo from Brazil São Paulo.

I think the most important part is the "concept" behind what we are playing because the truth is always around us and we do it every day such as II V, scales and so on, but its essence hard to recognize it. Sometimes, we might need to ignore the names and theories, to feel as it is instead. Thanks for your comment.

How are the chords to this song ? Your chord choice are always great
@JazzyBrissy3 ай бұрын
I've always had pianist friends to glimpse their theories, but that doesn't really help much, but it does give you a little understanding of how they work. I tend to think of guitar chords as slash "/ "chords, for example in this song, the first verse CM7 - D6 - Em7, then I choose Em/C - Bm/D - G/E. So, I try to play this song in my own way, like a band, separating the bass line from the guitar chords on top. If there are any chords in this song that you are unsure of, please let me know exactly what minute and second in this video.

It seems that the sound of the hollowbody archtop guitar is determined by the size of the body. In my personal experience, it seems to have the advantage of being more calm and more focused when playing low and medium bass. Thank you for your comment.
