Thank you for sharing, im going to have my surgery in 5 days. Question: Is it absolutely necessary to have a recliner for sleeping and easy access? I think bed is going to be a little difficult to settle in for nights and getting out off. What do you suggest? I dont have one, but i was thinking maybe sofa chair...?

Interesting there is no oil filter. I wonder why it is not needed?

Start the blower up, run it for a few minutes to warm the oil up. It will make it easier to drain

Thank you. I’m on day 4 post reverse shoulder replacement. I’ve watched lots of videos, but you had some tips I hadn’t heard before. I wish I had rented that ice machine. I bought one that turned out to be defective, so now I’ve just got ice packs.

Sorry, dude. I'm leaving with or without you. Chesney played this game, too. Experience tells me you want out. Don't lie. Just leave. Like Chesney and Cavenaugh. I don't really care. Internet friends never show up. Let me school you. Really, Andy. With you, I thought better. Sadness. :::::::::: May you all be returned what you gave to me tenfold. Blessing for blessing. Curse for curse. This blessing is in my right to give through God, my Father. Oversee me with your might. Oversee those I have blessed, though they do not worship you, God my Father. Through the glory of the Christ. Amen.

All small engines on snowblowers are pretty much the same. Just take the dip stick out first just so you don’t create a vacuum by only opening the drain plug…it’ll drain faster.

My 2 stage Cub Cadet only holds 600 ml and 1 quart is 946 ml so beware.

Good video. One comment. At about 6:30 you said it's OK if the oil is on the high side. I would say this is not the best advice. Engines lubricate by the crank shaft hitting and splashing oil into the piston cylinder bore. If the oil is too high, this will not happen and the engine will prematurely fail. Check your manual and verify the oil capacity. My Cub Cadet 930SWE has an oil capacity of 1 quart and it's a big machine. The one in the video is 1 1/2 quarts and another reader mentioned a capacity of 20 ounces, or about 2/3 quarts. I always like to keep my oil within 1/8" of the high mark on the dipstick. If it is over this amount, I just pull the plug slightly and drain a little out.

As a single mom with no family....I am having the surgery in 2 weeks. This was very helpful. My surgeon did not mention the ice machine. I am going to call a medical supply place tomorrow. Also get a recliner. How did you keep your arm slinged in the shower?
@anthonymacneil22792 жыл бұрын
I have the same machine, as for gas issues I put a shut off valve. I was a bit inventive and figured out how to install one. This is the best way rather than running the tank dry. Also I use K100 stabilizer keeps gas fresh for 2 years. Cheers

Can you post the part no for the gas shut off valve you bought? I was looking for on an was surprised the Cub Cadet does not have one.

@MarkTiffanyBrotemarkle2 жыл бұрын
Make sure you check your engine cc - Cubic Centimeters and verify the amount of oil needed to fill. The 203cc engine only uses 20 ounces of oil to fill. Compare that to the 48 ounces shown in the video.
@davidtravale6237 Жыл бұрын
FYI 273CC also only uses 20 oz.

The information about quantity of oil is incorrect. You said 1.5 quart. I went out and purchased two 1-quart bottles of oil (2 x 946 ml). Then I saw the manual "Before starting engine, fill with motor oil, capacity is 600 ml/20 oz. " So it is less than 2/3 quart of oil. (Cub Cadet manual: 179cc, 208cc & 243cc OHV Horizontal Shaft Engine)
@PilgrimsProgress72 жыл бұрын
Good video. I was not sure how to drain the oil. Instead of being wasteful by running the engine to burn off the gasoline, at the end of the season, may I suggest that you transfer the gasoline form the snow thrower to your lawn mower?
