Saw Dweezil's band i think a little before this performance in Orangevale CA. Don't think Keneally was in the band. It was more packed with energy and tighter than seemed humanly possible. Possibly the most brain busting display of rock guitar that venue had been subjected to. It went on for more than two hours and some people who really dug the show were exhausted and left, unfortunately for them, they missed Purple Guitar and a bunch of other @#$&(*** !! amazing poop.

Adrian Belew was trained by FZ. King Crimson with Adrian is the best ever. Chester Thompson, drummer for Genesis played with FZ. A lot of musicians started with FZ.

Didn't Frank have a PR agent or manager to coach him that on MSM short appearances you have to have entertaining anecdotes to fill up the time? Too many one-word responses to questions creates awkwardness. Personally, I don't care - but that's not how to optimize the appearance.

This has a very 1990s/old school Mtv-vibe: it is a goofy and random medley of rock songs from the 60s through 90s performed very well by a Zappa-led band, all on the serious-behest of a corporation but presented satirically and in a funny manner.

ok I know Peavey makes amps and electronics. I see that they are using only Peavey whereas his father and literallly everyone else used Marshall and still does. Was this some type of Peavey promotion concert or something? Super curious for the context, and it appears to not be satirical as there is a 'Zappa' designed peavey amp for sale if you google search it. I had a Peavey bass amp when I was young, but because it was cheaper. Despite choosing it for its price, it sounded just as good as any other amp I used before or heard.

Franks lyrics, admittedly sometimes “ immature “, are remarkably memorable. I still have “ it’s the middle of the night, and your mommy and your daddy are sleeping, sleeping in a jar” running round my head after 40 years.

Not enough attention is paid to this period of Frank’s modal music. It’s not “psychedelic”; I’m almost sure Zappa was listening to Coltrane’s later period just before he died. Spiritual? Maybe, if you could count Frank’s sense of the universality and individuality of being as spiritual.
