Was enjoying the podcast until minute 33. Guys, you should know better, old angle, makes the table to look shorter and rallies are not at their real speed and frankly, not interesting for the lay man. Dan, try to put a camera above one of the players in your hall and see if the views go up, my guess they won't. Also, the production team at wtt events aim is to make table tennis popular ? So it is not about us the players but the general audience. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the views with WTT are waay better than the old world tour

I think there are a number of contributing factors to viewership changes than just the camera angle. My opinion is that the side angle reduces table tennis to a very flat two dimensional appearance, and I find it very difficult to watch. You will find that when people buy tickets for tt events they generally try and buy seats behind the table not on the side, this is a fact - so I don’t know if really enough data is collected to support whichever angle. The main reason WTT chose the side angle is to increase the quantity of sponsor banner coverage on the long side of the court.

Also if you filter WTT’s videos by views and scroll probably through the first 100 videos you will see most of the more popular videos are from 2020 or before

@@MHTableTennis you can't compare videos' views if they have years of difference, I looked at the latest videos and I see some matches between two almost unknown players and it is 600 views on the first day. Alexis Lebrun Lin Shidong 2 days 18k already
@MHTableTennisАй бұрын
@@chebkhaled1985 I mean comparing 2019/2020 with 2021-now is not that crazy. The side view is always going to be a contentious topic but I 100% stand by my views and it’s not like I have an outspoken opinion, a lot of people don’t like the side view. As I said it flattens the dimensions of the game and also if it was really so popular other racket sports would be doing it and they aren’t - every other racket sport uses the classic angle.
@chebkhaled1985Ай бұрын
@@MHTableTennis every other racket sport don't have small distance between the two players like in TT. At the end of the day you are watching it on a screen so its a 2 dimensions anyway, the old angle loses the dimension where one could really appreciate the speed. Side angle loses the dimension where you can appreciate placements. My bet is that a non-player viewer would appreciate speed more.

The Lebrun brothers have someone handling their social media, since half a year or so. I saw it in an interview that they hired someone, and it was visible how the style of Facebook posts for example changed after.

@JOOLAGlobal2 ай бұрын
The Freeze HRD is stiffer feeling harder wood outer and cleaner feedback for more direct play. ZQH 45 is a bit softer outer and good for spinning and feel

Hi, how would you compare it to Samba+ which are discontinued ? I used 2 Samba+ for 11y and i'm wondering if those two new Rubbers could be a good replacement. I'm an allround player using Top spins, blocks and chops, so am i wrong to go with an Ice on my FH where i need control more than power, and a Fire where i'm stronger on active blocks and fast attacks ?
@JOOLAGlobal2 ай бұрын
Yes they can be a good replacement for Samba+. Fire still has good control, the main difference is that Ice is much softer feeling, most would favour it for backhand at 40 deg hardness but of course that’s all down to preference 😊

Hello sir love from india finding a alternative for timo boll alc Does joola has any type of blade that is similar to timo boll
@JOOLAGlobal2 ай бұрын
The Freeze HRD blade is probably the best alternative, it's also ARY-c carbon with koto top ply.
