This is the pro level in the USA, not very high compared to the rest of the world. But the popularity of table tennis is not high here so that makes sense.

Kou Lei was top 20 in the world and still plays polish super league, Enzo is french league and just outside the fringe of their national team.

No doubt he was at that level about 12-15 years ago but not now. Neither of them would make top 100 list, I don’t think.

Are these guys professionals? Those serves look so weak. Time for them to learn a new style, perhaps. No, not the Chinese or Europeans. They are nearly identical. It has to be something new, something better, but with a different kind of racket grip. Maybe one that no one has seen or heard of yet . . . or one that has already been developing since April 5, 2023. Who knows? Well, maybe I do.

That’s a pretty bold statement, Kou Lei has a very strong serve game. It’s also very odd to say Chinese and Europeans are almost identical when their styles are so far apart in the sport. Kou Lei was top 20 in the world so to ask if he is professional is crazy 🤣

@@JOOLAGlobal Not a bold statement at all. Only stating the obvious. When someone tells me they have something new. And if I were smart, I'd ask to see it first before I'd dismiss it. And those who just dismiss it unseen, all seem to have this old master "seen all, done all, know all, nothing new left to be discovered, ever" mentality. But we all know how those masters look when someone comes along with something new and better. So, with that said, I will try to make it as short as possible and not go into full details of how similar every single "style" of modern table tennis are, no matter what you call them . . . attacker, defender, chopper, blocker, and so on. Just look at how they serve the ball, how they hit their forehands, backhands, and overheads, etc. If you don't see any differences, then it's obvious that there aren't any. Until you have something completely different to compare to, side by side, only then, will you see it. But those who do not wish to see it, will never see it because they've "already" seen, know, and done it all . . . obviously.

@@cuongtkong58 Haven’t dismissed anything, didn’t even address that part of your comment. Simply disagreeing with your apparent dismissal of these guys are professional players. Most players with experience in the game would be able to identify that these are not weak serves and that there are differences in style between Chinese and European players.

@@cuongtkong58 you’re stating something that you consider obvious but a majority of table tennis players would more than likely disagree with.
