@GunsForEveryoneIsaac4 күн бұрын
@bigbossman3806 for self defense, the goal is efficiency. Manual safeties are inefficient if there is a viable option that doesn't require a manual safeties. Glocks (and most modern striker fired handguns) don't just have trigger safeties, there is a drop safety and firing pin block as well.

The best presentation on this subject I've ever seen...fantastic. With new technology in modern ammunition, specifically .22 caliber. Rounds like Federal Punch or Winchester Silvertip in a handgun like a S&W 43c revolver I think you would have a good carry option. I have also carried a S&W .22 Compact semi auto. The ammunition and firearm have to work well together as well as the person being proficient with them.
@GunsForEveryoneIsaac4 күн бұрын
@@bigbossman3806 yes, good ammo that works well in the gun and proficiency is key. .22 revolvers are pretty decent as far as revolvers go, especially considering the trigger pull is lighter for a revolver, easier to learn.

i have a bp40cc and it does the same thing. after looking through a parts schematic and inspecting the fcu my theory is that the Sear retainer spring is not aligned on the Sear retainer. the spring freely spins on the Sear retainer pin, with zero tension pushing the Sear retainer forward. This allows the sear retainer to just plop back and forth regardless if there is a magazine installed. how does one torque the spring back into its place? this i do not know. i need to inspect a bp40 or a bp9 that doesn't have this issue so i may finally see what kind of black magic the Argentines came up with. but just a theory

Really good points. Can I suggest a youtube channel called TACTICAL RIFLEMAN run by a guy named Karl Erickson? I wont even tell you his credentials because you're bang on about what you said about the appeal to authority. It really doesnt matter. What matters is that the content Karl puts out is useful to me in my everyday life. Every week I can ask him questions on his livestream that pertain to me and he answers them. I like having the opportunity to pick his brain. I dont know him personally or anything. Here's a great example of why I really like what he has to offer: I've heard him say many times on his weekly livestreams that a person is far more likely to come across a car crash, an old timer having a hearth attack in Wal Mart, etc, than they would a situation that requires them to draw their gun on someone. I never really thought about that until I started watching him four years ago. Many of his videos/topics are not about shooting at all. For example: How to start a fire in the rain, how to use a car window to sharpen a knife (that's not a video unfortunately; he talked about it on his most recent livestream) and lots of other wacky things I'd never think of. I've listened to him talk about how to properly store fruits and veggies a few times. Yeah, it's a small shooting channel, but he wants to make the world a better place, not be a pew-pew guy. Go check it out if you're interested, thought you might like it. (Btw, his livestreams are on a channel called TR LIVE, not the actual TACTICAL RIFLEMAN CHANNEL)

@@jessespitler3457 tactical rifleman still approaches training from his previous military experience. I've watched a lot of his content. He's down to earth but his context is still skewed away from the everyday citizen defense context.
@jessespitler34576 күн бұрын
@@GunsForEveryoneIsaac Well you're not entirely wrong. In fact, I think I'll ask him if he wants to make more videos or something a bit more civilian-esque, I would like that. Like videos going over self-defense scenarios, with and without firearms for example. I will say I think the best piece of advice I've heard him repeat is that if you carry a gun, you need a flashlight/gun light of some kind, specifically for target identification ( you need to know who/what are you shooting at). Probably won't need it most of the time, but light is always a requirement. I guess this probably applies to military and civilians - more of a gun thing in general. I never really thought it was 'necessary' until I heard his argument.
@flyoverkid5515 күн бұрын
Seems to me that the problem exists on the viewer's end of the equation. The " Do this like a Navy SEAL " videos appeal to those who either work under similar conditions [ not many of us ] or to those who dream about being at a level of performance that they'll likely never achieve. Can't fault YT creators for seeking that larger audience share, blame the wanna-be types that click on every video that has some reference to Spec Ops when they know full well it has no bearing on them.

Cool video. Keep it up. I hate it btw. Allow me to explain why. Don't we know pea shooters are useless now? Doesn't matter how great your pea shooter is if the games been rigged from the start. Winners focus on tactics and strategy etc and losers focus on their wunder weapons and the newest thing to buy and latest concept to circle jerk around but never end up using because they don't actually have the real prerequisites to do anything, it's absolutely disasterous.
@GPOLICE29 күн бұрын
Having a working pea shooter is the absolute bare minimum. If you want to do a good show and tell, show us how many redundant spare parts you have, show us how many spare bolts you have, show us your gauges and how your spare bolts compare in terms of headspace. People don't needninspiration to build the perfect wunderweapon (everyone is going to try anyways, unless they're smart), what I think people are lacking on when it comes to small arms is being prepared to keep these rifles running and how to keep them secure from thieves and rust and other factors that would otherwise render them inoperable

For the gas to the face I did a bootleg bcg with a standard CH but I put some liquid rubber on the back end of the CH to make a seal. Also make sure the upper and lower are tight against each other to reduce gas leaking out the sides and i mean tight without using a tension screw cause a tension screw just makes a larger gap. Works pretty well to bleed off gas and keep it away from me, I also recommend LBE unlimited charging handles. They have standard ones that are not made out of crappy metal and don't cost out the ass. I've had some handles that have rolled a ton of material off after so long.
@GunsForEveryoneIsaacАй бұрын
Yeah the bcg was night and day with gas. Gas Buster Charging handle really seemed to make zero difference on the gas, otherwise it's a good quality CH. Gemtech doesn't make that bolt carrier anymore, I think that Bootleg is still made but they are hard to find. Seems like more people just end up going with adjustable gas blocks since it puts less wear and tear on the BCG.
