Mine does the same thing, and it hasn't been an issue. Purchased it new in 2015 and after messing with it and shooting it for a while, it began doing this. It still functions totally fine, and gets carried daily.

It's an ambidextrous mag release. If it wasn't working properly, you should have taken it to a licensed gunsmith, instead of trying to fix it yourself. Got what you deserved.
