The stockings on the happy baby help to protect the legs. I have one and when I got her about ten years ago she had those cotton stockings on and, her legs are in great shape. I need to address the top of her head as like most composition dolls her her head is peeling and, loosing some paint. Your dolls are beautiful.

Thank you! I haven't posted any new videos for a while but planning to do so as I have some new dolls and old toys to share. I agree with stockings as some of my dolls are very old and not so good shape, as I got them with theire legs bare!

Just giving you another tip for your sleepie eye dolls do not lay them on their back their eyes can fall back into their head , they are very nice . Thank you for showing us your dolls .

The main thing I do is gently clean the surface of painted composition with damp cloth and then rub linseed oil . If the doll has cloth body I do not touch it as any water will trigger the bacteria in old fabric and produce very unpleasant scent. Recently I discovered that gently spraying with Lysol halps to eliminate that nasty old smell from old dolls. The clothes I hand wash and air dry, then iron carefully. This is as far as I go with my dolls as I love the old look. Will make some more videos soon as I got quite a few new-old dolls and some very old toys.

The dolls that I show on my videos are not for sale. I will be putting some other on ebay though, as my collection grew a bit large and my doll room is full! Will keep only the ones I am really connected to.

Thank you! No, I do not make horror dolls out of antique dolls. I use all modern dolls by creating horror look with oil paints.

The extra large one with no arms was dressed as a girl with a wig. They were 1920s carnival kewpie dolls that could be won at the local carnivals. I have a boy one and just love him💖

I bought an antique baby doll at the flea market for $2 and it does not have any markings. The head arms and legs are all carved out of solid wood with a cloth body and all facial features are painted on. The baby's hair is not sculpted it is painted on. The hands are very detailed. The legs and feet have little to no detail, the toes are not carved out however the feet are flat on the bottom of the soles. I was told that my baby is handmade from the 1870s to 1890s era.

Antique dolls like these vary in prices from as little as $20 ( or less) to hundreds of $$$, depends on condition of the doll, the brand or how rare the doll is.

Hello everybody, does everybody know how to preserve a composition doll?, I had an effanbee doll but im so worry because i noticed that she is cracking, when i bought her she has some cracks, but yesterday i saw that the cracks were bigger, i don't know what to do, i've tried to do all the tips to preserve her that i've found in the internet, i would be very greatful if someone could help me

It is important to watch the temperatures in the placr that you store this kind of dolls in. Heat, too much light or humidity can cause damage to the composition. I keep all my dolls in a doll room, and make sure the temperature is even and that windows don't let any sunlight in. Linseed oil is good for cleaning and preservation, especially when crazing is noticable.

@@stypa1717 Thank you for your help, i really apreciate it, i used to display my dolls in the room where i sleep, it was the top floor in my house, and the temperature changes a lot in there, now i keep my dolls in room where nobody sleeps in the first floor in my house because the temperature is more even, i display them in a wooden shelf with glass doors, and i try to keep the windows and the door closed all the time, i hope it works, now im thinking that the weather in the city where i live is too warm for those kind of dolls, because the dolls i´ve bought that came from a cold city doesn´t have cracking or even crazing, or is very minimum.
