Awwwww !!Thank-you for your kind compliment . Now that third doll with rubber arms is actually magic skin . She is from the late 1940's early 1950's and just maybe squeaking into the mid 1950's . Yes they were selling composition dolls into mid 1950's not so sought for . Plastics were taking over but they were still on the shelves to be sold . That doll with magic skin arms is a transition doll . She has the new for the time plastic eyes and the new for the time magic skin limbs and yet the old composition head . She is adorable and a nice size at that !! Wonderful finds !! Way to go !!

Thank you Tammy! I appreciate the info about one of the dolls as I don't know much about them yet in general. So much to learn. And yes, I am truly delighted with my recent finds.

The stockings on the happy baby help to protect the legs. I have one and when I got her about ten years ago she had those cotton stockings on and, her legs are in great shape. I need to address the top of her head as like most composition dolls her her head is peeling and, loosing some paint. Your dolls are beautiful.

Thank you! I haven't posted any new videos for a while but planning to do so as I have some new dolls and old toys to share. I agree with stockings as some of my dolls are very old and not so good shape, as I got them with theire legs bare!

She's very beautiful. You said she was heavy. Is she filled with wood? I have a doll that feels like it has hard pieces in it that makes it very heavy. Thank you for sharing.

Enjoyed your presentation! But the largest doll is not baby dimples, it is a large smiling baby made by a numerous companies in the 1930s. If you look up Baby Dimplesin a doll reference book you will see the difference in the face , body, limbs etc. my favorites were the old babies too. Have fun with them!

The one with the smile is most likely called Happy Baby. I too just rescued some composition babies and need to restore them to their original beauty. Two of the big babies came with their original clothes and one even has her Sox and shoes. The dresses are disintegrating but, I would love to recreate them. How do you paint your dolls and, what kind of paint do you use? Love this.

Thank you! I use both acrylic and oil paint to restore. However, unless the damage is too great, I try as much as I can to leave the doll's faces intact. Whenever I am lucky enough to get a doll with original pieces of clothing I always keep them. If needed I do repairs by sewing. Good luck with your restoration!

To me, if the doll has clothes that fit , use them! Original clothes are rare and expensive.

Hello everybody, does everybody know how to preserve a composition doll?, I had an effanbee doll but im so worry because i noticed that she is cracking, when i bought her she has some cracks, but yesterday i saw that the cracks were bigger, i don't know what to do, i've tried to do all the tips to preserve her that i've found in the internet, i would be very greatful if someone could help me

It is important to watch the temperatures in the placr that you store this kind of dolls in. Heat, too much light or humidity can cause damage to the composition. I keep all my dolls in a doll room, and make sure the temperature is even and that windows don't let any sunlight in. Linseed oil is good for cleaning and preservation, especially when crazing is noticable.

@@stypa1717 Thank you for your help, i really apreciate it, i used to display my dolls in the room where i sleep, it was the top floor in my house, and the temperature changes a lot in there, now i keep my dolls in room where nobody sleeps in the first floor in my house because the temperature is more even, i display them in a wooden shelf with glass doors, and i try to keep the windows and the door closed all the time, i hope it works, now im thinking that the weather in the city where i live is too warm for those kind of dolls, because the dolls i´ve bought that came from a cold city doesn´t have cracking or even crazing, or is very minimum.
