How do I get a broken Aerator threaded part out of the faucet. My daughter went to take it out and the aerator broke unscrewing it leaving its Brass threads inside the faucet. Its on a Moen Bathroom Faucet. I thought I might have to use a Burns-o-matic Torched to heat it a little but thought I should wait to see if there is a better way. I have been spraying WD-40 inside the nozzle and let it sit over night but it did no good. I tried to wrap some wide rubber band material around a needle nose plier to see if that would grab enough but it seems almost frozen on with some corrosion. That was the reason I was thinking some heat. I also own a heat gun maybe I will try that next. Might be better to use then a Burns-o-matic Torch. It wouldn't get it so hot.

I have the cache tool but cannot loosen any of three stuck aerators with it. Even tried using slip joint pliers to turn the cache tool but none budged. I have the plastic tool that came with the faucets. Is there a better one?

Part 3 has been cancelled due to a storm that damaged the test board last year. I was going to restart the test but the interest in these videos has been too low. Here's how it worked out from part 2....two coats was better but not by much. At the 6 month mark, all the finishes were pretty much gone again. So now what? As someone whose had Massa siding for over 10 years, I can tell you the key is to apply the finish every 3-4 months for the first 18-24 months. Once we did this, we were able to go pretty much a whole year before the next application. I've had good success with Armstrong Clark and Cabots. I've had mixed results with Messmers and Penofin. I have no experience with Deckwise except for these videos and it has not impressed my enough to change.

I need to do this with my existing fluorescent light strips in my garage since it gets quite cold in the winter the the LED tubes are unaffected by the freezing temps unlike the fluorescent tubes, plus the LEDs are much brighter. Some of my fixtures did not require any conversions whatsoever but others will. These days it is near impossible to find light fixtures that are not integrated with LED lights. Once they go bad you have to replace the whole fixture. Very dumb.

You're told water only because solar professionals cannot tell you anything else, on the record. Because the manufacturers don't approve anything else. So the installer now becomes liable. Cleaning them yourself is a great idea. But what a solar installer would have to charge you just to cover costs would be more than the ROI based on increased production.

Highly researched subject and great videos! I watched all 4 in the series 🙂One question - can I apply a Cement Primer after applying Liquid Sodium Silicate, on concrete boundary walls and then paint them white? The concrete is new now, but I am afraid after a few years it may catch black mold even after painting it.

Hi, can i apply a penetrating sealer first followed by an acrylic sealer topcoat? Since i like the slight color change in an acrylic sealer but would want the benefit of the more penetrative sealer underneath. Thank you!

I have a set of plastic keys from Lowes. They dont work. None of the sizes fit the groves and it took 30 mins slowly trying to loosen only to have it keep falling out (good to see the same issue happened with you). Only to finally get it started and then seize up and wouldnt get it totally off. Got it low enough to slightly turn with finger but only 1 turn. This is such a stupid design.... aesthetics over function - why cant we have things that encompass both??? Mine is a Moen faucet for bathroom sink. Tried soaking as well - no luck so far. Do metal aerator keys exist? Do they work better than the plastic or do they damage faucet?

Chris, do you have a comment on this: I used oxalic acid on some oak that has some terrible tannin marks. It worked well but I did not neutralize. Now I'd like to go back and use a white-tinted shellac. Do you think I need to go back and neutralize? Is it possible that the shellac might not be affected by any oxalic residue?

Can LED's and Fluorescent be mixed in the same circuit? For example if three F light fixtures in series and I just convert one or two fixtures which have bad ballasts. The last one is hard to get to and has an old school magnetic ballast.

@NA-hb7kl 0 seconds ago There are at least two especially simple ways to make poplar conventionally beautiful. The most delightfully simple strategy is just to let it get a "suntan" outdoors or under a UV lamp. Just let it darken until it looks perfect to you and all the green is gone. Then finish with a clearcoat, or apply any suitable colored stain of your choice. People can see an example of how nice 'sun-tanning' poplar looks at this illustration in WoodworkingNetwork. Search for an article entitled "Why I Like Working with Poplar By Randy Maxey. Nearly as simple: Begin with a wood conditioner, then a dye (a dye, not a stain, at this stage). Then poplar will accept a wide range of final finishes, like other fine woods. It is sad that even many experienced woodworkers think poplar is only good for painting. If they knew about such techniques, it could be a whole lot more poplar.

I just found your video tonight. I tried all the methods you suggested to remove the aerator and no luck. It is a metal screw in type. I had to put it on in order to use a pur filter on this kitchen faucet. This metal thing is stuck in there. What would be your next suggestion to try and get this damned thing off the end of the faucet?

Help! I have an outdoor fireplace and pizza oven. There is a roof over it. I have two stains. One is like an oil, probably from the pizzas and it's the cement hearth . The other stains are both on the vertical facing Stone surface and the cement hearth and that is soot and fire stains. I did use a power washer already and then have tried several other kinds of cleaners. I did get a lot of the soot off the facing but some soot stains on the smooth cement hearth remain and the oil stains on there. If you have any suggestions I would love to know! I will see if there's a cement contractor person I can reach out to thanks for any help you might be able to provide

I know this video is several years old but I have question about penetrating concrete sealers here in 2024. I have a concrete retaining wall 9 feet high. The outside of the wall is finish in stucco. The inside of the wall holds back dirt / soil. The soil on the inside of the wall is watered regularly because grass and garden plants are planted next to the inside of the wall. Over time, the water penetrates through the inside of the retaining wall, moves through the wall to exterior surface where the stucco has been sprayed & painted. Eventually the movement of the water damages the stucco with "bubbles of air and water. Question: If I seal the OUTSIDE of the wall with penetrating sealers, will that prevent water from coming through the wall and damaging the stucco? Thanks!

I can never understand why people want to remove the green from poplar. Just use clear varnish which brings out all the colors, it looks beautiful. I have glued several pieces together and turned it on the lathe, the variety of colors look wonderful. Try it on a small project and see for yourself. remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I bought some double ended Type B tubes (GE product 32w T8 Direct Wire) and was all ready to go after watching this and many similar videos. But then I saw the instructions on the box say to add “the recommended fuse and fuse holder (not supplied) to the hot wire from the mains”. My question is (a) what would the fuse be for and do I really need it? And (b) if I do need one how do I know what kind of fuse? Thank you!!
