Thank you. I was on Gabapentin for seizures and they increased the dose. It made me very sick. Still had seizures too. Now I use cannabis, and for 4 years no seizures. I do think in some cases it can be used over traditional medicine.

I have sciatica from a car wreck and no opioid would help. My brother suggested gabapentin and asked my doctor to prescribe it for me. After the first dose my pain disappeared. Months of severe pain was gone. I'm still taking it and have had no side effects except that I can finally get a good night sleep. I think this is just a video pushing pot. Which I'm not against. Gabapentin does work.

WHY?? I know exactly why Fish Farms pollution in the ocean and the severe loss of habitat on the salmon's (land habitat) in the watersheds of the Fraser Valley and encrouchment into these pristine areas must be stopped. I was on Alex's support network, to educate the public about sea lice infestations impacting on salmon smolt's survival. ? from swimming through a guantlet of sea lice infested waters, where the 125 Fish farms were located.

Thank you. Was prescribed Gabapentin for my chronic pain a few years back "luckily" the side effects were so vile l refused to take it. I now make do with Tramadol, Codeine and Paracetamol, topped up with lbuprofen when l'm really desperate. Luckily medical treatment and medications are free here. Unfortunately c*nnabis is still largely illegal here in Aotearoa/ New Zealand but, recently some very limited choices of medical c*nnabis have been made available. Had to wait a few years for the cost to drop from about $1,200.00 per month to about $440 per month as the cost of it is not covered by Pharmac (the govt agency that covers the cost of and/or subsidises medicine here), it's an unsustainable amount. Luckily l was finally put in touch with a Green Fairy and can now get relief at a fraction of the cost. God bless them.

Thank you Ian , your honesty is refreshing and reasuring. I've used and discussed Gabapentin , Lyrica and Pegabalin with two consultant Anesthesiologists. Both agreed that it does nothing except dull your mind and body and does very little for chronic pain.

THC causes way more than just schizophrenia lol it's a proconvulsant that builds up in your brain over time and causes epilepsy, drops your IQ, and destroys your endocannabinoid system. If you have to compare THC to one of the most ridiculed drugs of the last 30 years just to make a case for it, your argument is founded on eggshells. If there's anything to be learned from this, it's that CNS drugs are inherently dangerous with chronic use, and by promoting one while demonizing another, there is nothing separating you from all the other quacks. If you had a firm understanding of psychopharmacology then you would know that THC is much less safe than how you describe it, and that genetics have less to do with adverse reactions than you think. Anyone who uses THC often enough and in large enough doses is going to incur some degree of neurological damage, which could present as anything from schizophrenia to cognitive decline to neuropathy to movement disorders. It's unsafe recreationally because the high is really just focal seizures in the temporal lobe and prefrontal cortex, and it's unsafe medically because the therapeutic effects come from the high. Both of these drugs carry the risk of brain and nerve damage, and every CNS drug has been shown to cause neurological issues, so why would THC be any different?

If you ARE SMOKING CANNABIS!!! use as needed! Do not over use. Higher Tolerance= less effective! Little goes a long way! Heavy smoking can cause CHS. Please look it up. It is unimaginable pain until you go to the hospital and you will need to go or it could last weeks and cause irreversible damage and in some cases death. Ive been through it so many times. Now im a light smoker and every time i smoke its effective. I don't need to redose ever 20 minutes. I'm a diabetic type 1 with nerve damage in my legs, crotch, and in and around my butt and its so painful. Gabapentin 300 mg does wonders. Sometimes i don't even need to smoke. Helps me sleep and get sleep cause nerve pain keeps me up exhausted.

I wonder how much of the common negative effects of cannabis, anxiety, lethargy, etc. are influenced by the stigma. When one drinks a glass of alcohol, there is not that back in the mind shame that your parents are going to yell at you for being an alcoholic slob who is going to ruin his own life. Yet, with cannabis it is almost inescapable unless one has really low levels of agreeableness. So many people think cannabis makes you lazy, dumb, destroys your mind, etc. So when you smoke cannabis, you know those people think that about you. When it is on a widespread social level, that becomes a significant sources of shame and anxiety, which then is amplified by the effects of cannabis.

As a injured veteran with an amputated foot, portion of my buttocks removed and a leg that doesn't bend past 70° with permanent foot drop. I can honestly attest to the fact that cannabis has helped my pain, anxiety and has given me no noticeable side effects after 30 years of daily consumption. My advice for anyone looking for an alternative medicine is to try cannabis. If purchased at a legal licensed cannabis dispensary you'll be getting the freshest cannabis around, tested for contaminants and freshness with all the information of what your buying. I'd give that a try and maybe the combination of existing medication if the pain or injuries are severe and need a concoction of medicine to work effectively.

Way to go guys. It is a cute little production that tickles the troubled inter-play of our city council. As often happens you drew a certain amount of negative criticism, much of it due to a small but vocal core of "negative Nellies" and "anti-everythings" that Kamloops is known for. Their contention that everything should be addressed in a solemn and straight-laced manner is very annoying. That attitude belongs in a funeral home. The best way to approach political ineptness is with a generous application of good-natured humor. Sometimes it takes a few tries to perfect it, but I'm sure that Kam-El and his excellent supporting cast are very capable of the task. Keep up the good work!

11:51 is what happened to me with my doctors. I was born with NF1 and in 2007 I was prescribed gabapentin to deal with my peripheral neuropathy due to NF. In the beginning it seemed to work until I hit a plateau while on it. My doctor increased the dosage and it became worse in dealing with the side effects. I stopped taking it because I had thoughts of suic*de, severe depression and a host of other things. It's been 13 years since I stopped taking it and I am beyond glad I did.

I'm sorry, but that was painful to watch. That "turn left" bit went on for far too long, the camels voice is annoying AF, and whoever wrote the script is slightly uninformed about the Deputy Mayor of the month position. This video came across as yet another way for Hamer-Jackson to complain about how "unfair" everyone is being to him for not doing his job (good job calling him out for his lack of accountability!), and most of the complaining in this video was about how the rest of Council is responding to the Mayor's BS; the video could have been more balanced since the rest of City Council's actions didn't occur in a vacuum. The Mayor's surname was mispronounced every time as well which shows how shallow the research was on this topic (hay-mer, not hammer). The puppetry was good though, whichever producer had their hand up his backside portrayed emotions well. I hope the next episode is better!
@themastermindstudio6 ай бұрын
You're right. It's not our best work. Hard to do great work with zero budget off the side of your desk. As far as the misinformation is concerned we find it hard to believe what anyone is saying in any of this. It's hard for us to tell who is telling the truth and like most of Kamloops we're tired and frustrated of it all. For this video we didn't make a claim of taking an unbiased journalistic approach. We claimed it was cynical and satirical entertainment. We know that not everyone will agree with our little rant and that's perfectly fine. If we were trying to be completely serious we wouldn't be using a talking camel puppet. The mayor's surname was pronounced incorrectly, on-purpose. Hence the picture of the hammer trying to hit a square peg in a round hole, but I guess not all jokes land as planned the first time around. Don't know at this point if we will do a next episode, we're just experimenting at this point.

We knew that we would not please everyone but we took a risk and said something, and dared to be different, rather than just stay quiet in fear and not express what our conscience was telling us. In short, we were trying to express that we feel that both the mayor and the city council are all culpable in the current tribulation and that it is becoming ridiculous.
