Great work Mastermind team! some feedback - Faster watch time. There were some long transitions. Your pupettry was amazing - especially how he fell backwards. And when his mouth was gaping open. Took me right back to the Muppet Show - You guys did your research on puppets and also the muppets in council. Fantastic.

Awesome Job Thank you when we shut down our 21 year old Retail Store WestCoast Hydroponics and we were grateful for what we learned from you while we were there. We moved to Portugal where Jose (husband) born my heart goes out to those there and love keeping in touch this was very well done!

Way to go guys. It is a cute little production that tickles the troubled inter-play of our city council. As often happens you drew a certain amount of negative criticism, much of it due to a small but vocal core of "negative Nellies" and "anti-everythings" that Kamloops is known for. Their contention that everything should be addressed in a solemn and straight-laced manner is very annoying. That attitude belongs in a funeral home. The best way to approach political ineptness is with a generous application of good-natured humor. Sometimes it takes a few tries to perfect it, but I'm sure that Kam-El and his excellent supporting cast are very capable of the task. Keep up the good work!

This came across as more of an op-ed. Would really like a more balanced report. Some of the transitions were to long, for example 'turn left'. I appreciate your summary, and with more context and snappier transition it would work.

I agree this is disappointing. Not terribly funny, and not terribly informative. I'm not really sure what they were trying to achieve with this.

Sorry you feel that way. Admittedly we have not been known for producing comedy in the past and we definitely stepped outside of our comfort zone. We knew that we would not please everyone but we took a risk and said something, and dared to be different, rather than just stay quiet in fear and not express what our conscience was telling us. In short, we were trying to express that we feel that both the mayor and the city council are all culpable in the current tribulation and that it is becoming ridiculous.
@MaLLahoFF6 ай бұрын
I am pretty disappointed that the mayor's actions weren't talked about as well. He's done enough that to make a nearly 10 minute long video, and not mention any of it, feels calculated. Production value is good though, would have been share worthy if both council and the Mayor were prodded at.
@themastermindstudio6 ай бұрын
Thank you. Yes, we will admit that we were a little calculated. We feel that both the mayor and the city council are all culpable in the current tribulation and that it is becoming ridiculous and costly for Kamloops to continue these shenanigans. However, we also feel that the media has been far too lenient on the councilors' eager willingness to continue adding fuel to the fire. So, yes we started with council and spent more time there because of that. Perhaps we will be able to do better for you if there is a next time. Again, thank you for your feedback.
@MaLLahoFF6 ай бұрын
@themastermindstudio Thank you for replying and being honest. I hope you can see the irony in believing that the media is portraying a biased view of the situation and deciding that the best option is to portray a biased view of the situation. You, in essence, became what you were upset with. I also feel that to say you "started with" the council is misleading. There was no intention to continue as your comments show. This has potential, but if it is going to succeed, it must be unbiased and comedic above all else. (In my opinion.)

For this video we didn't make a claim of taking an unbiased journalistic approach. We claimed it was cynical and satirical entertainment. We know that not everyone will agree with our little rant and that's perfectly fine. If we were trying to be completely serious we wouldn't be using a talking camel puppet.

Well, that’s who the people of Kamloops voted in. Another question might be, if Kamloops was a used car could he sell it, or is it an obvious lemon?

Way to not provide any context about WHY the council has done what they have done. Sure sounds like you are trying to defend the mayor to me, but I would not expect much else from a company that worked with Jean-Claude Auger to make a video about what a nice drug dealer, er person, he was.
@themastermindstudio6 ай бұрын
Sorry you feel this way. We feel that both the mayor and the city council are all to blame for the sorry state of affairs that the City finds itself in. We also feel that the councilors' are not being held accountable for the role they continue to play in escalating and making things worse. As for your comment about the work we did relating to Jean-Claude Auger in 2015. If you care to educate yourself, it was not about glorifying Jean-Claude Auger. Instead it was about collaborating with industry professionals (clinical councilors and corrections officers) with our own volunteer time to try and create meaningful reform through the development of an accredited curriculum for criminal reform as well as certified criminal reform coaching. Instead of criticizing we were trying to be active in making a difference to ensure that criminals are actually reformed before they are released. armchairmayor.ca/2014/09/03/convicted-offender-reveals-all-on-camera-prior-to-sentence/

I'm sorry, but that was painful to watch. That "turn left" bit went on for far too long, the camels voice is annoying AF, and whoever wrote the script is slightly uninformed about the Deputy Mayor of the month position. This video came across as yet another way for Hamer-Jackson to complain about how "unfair" everyone is being to him for not doing his job (good job calling him out for his lack of accountability!), and most of the complaining in this video was about how the rest of Council is responding to the Mayor's BS; the video could have been more balanced since the rest of City Council's actions didn't occur in a vacuum. The Mayor's surname was mispronounced every time as well which shows how shallow the research was on this topic (hay-mer, not hammer). The puppetry was good though, whichever producer had their hand up his backside portrayed emotions well. I hope the next episode is better!
@themastermindstudio6 ай бұрын
You're right. It's not our best work. Hard to do great work with zero budget off the side of your desk. As far as the misinformation is concerned we find it hard to believe what anyone is saying in any of this. It's hard for us to tell who is telling the truth and like most of Kamloops we're tired and frustrated of it all. For this video we didn't make a claim of taking an unbiased journalistic approach. We claimed it was cynical and satirical entertainment. We know that not everyone will agree with our little rant and that's perfectly fine. If we were trying to be completely serious we wouldn't be using a talking camel puppet. The mayor's surname was pronounced incorrectly, on-purpose. Hence the picture of the hammer trying to hit a square peg in a round hole, but I guess not all jokes land as planned the first time around. Don't know at this point if we will do a next episode, we're just experimenting at this point.
