@@ElfstersRiflesandReloading I think you were referring to the hanguard...so I stand corrected! Why did you not go with the 24" barrel as it would push the bullet 200 fps quicker...VELOCITY IS KING!!!!!!!

I'll get them popped out and will have that in part2 when I start the reloading process to verify no cratered primers / primers are skewing the measurement for sure 100%. Decapping is my 1st part of my reloading process.

Decapped 1 of the brass cased (being that I can't do the steel either berdan primers), and the 1 brass case read the same fireformed headspace before and after decapping. I checked all of the primers fired and they all look good with no cratering
@ElfstersRiflesandReloading
@ElfstersRiflesandReloading 24 күн бұрын
So I'd say most the ammo started before fireform at 1.210 to 1.212 (let's just say 1.211 starting) and fireformed up to 1.24 for a growth of .013! So I'll prob shoot for about a .004 bump for final reloaded headspace of 1.20ish (which would be approx .009 over factory!) Crazy!

Yes, the chamber works like a sizing die. But what if it bumps the shoulders consistently? For example - I normally size my cases to 1.627", but occasionally a 1.628 or 1.629 slips through. However, when the rifle chambers these cases, it sizes them all down to 1.627. Wouldn't it be all right to assume - if it locked, then the size is correct for that particular rifle? Just curious, I'm only starting to understand how to reload for a precision gas gun.

I drilled shallow holes in the underside of the heavier cup until they were the same weight. You have to be careful to not drill through, obviously. I didn't like the idea of tape because dirt or powder could stick to the edges and change the weight.

I run my Frankford for 3hours I took a 5 gal bucket blue of course, drilled four holes right in the bottom corner opposite each other, then I draped a painters nylon paint screen in the bucket an draped over the outside of the bucket, I purchased the blue strainer with holes from the tumbler folks, so now when I dump the dirty water and pins in the strainer all the pins get rinsed through the strainer leaving the brass in the top of the strainer Rinse the brass thoroughly to remove the dawn and lemi this also washes the last of the pins down into the paint strainer in the bucket. Dump the brass on a towel and Simply move the paint strainer up into the separator which drains out the water from the pins. Clean pins and clean shiny brass inside and out.

Just took my Ruger precision rimfire 22lr out to the range for the first time. Found out it loves CCI mini mags and Aguila super extra high velocity. Both ammos grouped under 1 MOA at 50 yards. I’m very satisfied. CCI velocitors did not group very well but they do run hot. All chrono’d slightly above the printed fps on the box. One was 1489. Rippin! Winchester segmenting silvertips did horrible, but I think it was just poor consistency in the powder charge. Had some extreme flyers. Did not try any stingers as when I slid one into the chamber it would not fit all the way inside. CCI uppercuts same story. Case too long on both. Thats why theres a warning in the manual not to use them.

I’m excited to try this out. My RPRR shoots 3/8” - 7/16” groups with Eley Contact at 50 yards. I’m interested to see how this improves after the bedding, and properly torquing everything down.

The american long range shooters would be much better off, if they just learned the metric sizes. It must be much easier to do the math in metrics, and then have the understanding of what the result roughly equals in imperial units. Like 4 inches equals 10cm, 50cm equals 20 inches. 100 yards equal 91meter, or 100m equals 109 yards. That way it's easy to take advantage of the simplicity of the metric system...
@southern842
@southern842 3 ай бұрын
1/8 minute adjustments are more accurate than 0.1 mil adjustments. That's why the long range guys use it. For most real world applications 90% of Americans are using mil/mil scopes.

If there was an upper kit with the 1pc barrel in stainless steel and around 13.9" like the current upper A3 offers then I am all in. How do you host a suppressor with no adjustable gas block?
