Thanks so much for this. I’m teaching a K-1 combo this year. I think the mentor factor will be such a blessing. My Firsties had me for kinder, so they know my routines. My biggest concern is that Kinders start from such a different place. You need to explicitly and slowly cover everything (bathrooms, standing in line, how to use school supplies. Firsties already know those things and are ready to dive into new material. Kindergarteners can learn to work independently, but it takes much practice. Any advice? I couldn’t find much on combo classes either. Thanks for doing this. Please add more!

Here is my night routine every night I get home and i go straight to ny dog Coco and take her outside. Next i put ny stuff down and i check and see if i have any homework or not. Next at 6:30 i feed my puppy coco And then i take coco outside to use the bathroom Next i go take a shower either i do my hair or not. I change into my pajamas and get comfortable Before i go to bed i take my dog with me to my room I get a bowl of cocoa puff cereal At 11:30pm i go to bed.

We are adopting Wonders 2023 for the next school year. A few years ago, my colleague and I created an entire word building curriculum to go with Journeys. We would do word building on days 1, 3, and 5 so basically 3 times per lesson. Because we will be switching to Wonders, all of our on-level text we created to pair the CVC words we built and the sight words introduced in Journey's is completely off. They met with the reps today to decide which components we are ordering and I asked our team leader to please get the sight word list so we can start adapting all of our word building curriculum to match Wonders. She said that the rep said that there is plenty of word building and we don't need any more resources. Can anyone help me out with this? We worked so hard a few years ago and have seen great success, I'd hate for our students to regress. Plus I don't want to be blindsided in August! Any suggestions would be great! Jen

carpets need to be cleaned really often, like every week in high traffic areas! Little faces lay on them! They hold allergens & germs!
