got a samsung MCD-Mp67 that plays cd fine, but i get absolutely no audio. What is the problem?

When you say that it plays the CDs fine, do you get audio or it's only when it plays MP3 files that you don't get audio? Regardless the first thing I would do is pull it apart and have a look to see whether or not you can see any physical damaged to the headphone port or the traces especially around the battery compartment.

Upon further investigating I found out that the sound is coming through but very faintly even them then the vol dial is all the way up. Did not see any physical damage on the inside.

@@Cool_Hand_Luke77 Have you tried another pair of ear phones, just in case? Also cleaning out the headphone jack might help. Also, have you tried using the line out to connect it to an amplifier? I would also try contact cleaner in the headphone jack and volume control. Especially if when adjusting the volume it makes a scratchy sound. @ I have tried different headphones with same results. Seems like line out is dead. No sound at all. Volume dial doesn’t screech when turning. I noticed that there is an X marked on the board next to the volume dial, right on top of what seems like a diode. Is this normal for pcb to be marked? I really don’t want to throw this cd player out.

I had mine from Temu. Motor fan’s air direction was reverse and I had to interchange the electrodes(+ -). 😅

and instead of chucking them in the bin, could you tape over the ones that are less worthy? like make a mixtape recording from the boombox with a line in~? and a sticker over it to remove old content guilt

@@monkeypoo8511 Yes, you could totally reuse the the tapes. I didn't throw any out, I kept the ones I wanted and gave the rest to St Vincent De Paul charity, they where happy to have them.

I looked on my unit and that chip has no markings on mine. I had a thought that perhaps it was a special chip designed for Vaping devices, but I really don't know.

Mine did the same I was able to just open the covering could get to it without breaking it apart and manually rotating the motor, it was stuck. Would you say if I just qtipped it with some wd40 would it still get to the pin?

You could definitely give it a try, but if its not moving at all it might be something else like a piece of plastic jammed in there.

Nice video! To my mind the pen type meter is ideal for testing away from the bench, where you may not have a good place to rest a traditional meter. With this you can hold the entire setup in two hands.

W&F can be pretty frustrating. Guessing the age and quality that thing should actually be pretty good. Well under 0.1%. General order I tackle W&F is - is anything rubbing - replace belt - replace pinch roller - remove and lubricate the capstan - check the tape counter for binding - check and dismantle the take up reel clutch - replace motor.

had this error first time couple of years back, was replaced under warranty, sadly now the problem's back and ofc out of warranty 😒 i noticed the little metal shaft tends to bend slightly after about a year and doesn't rotate as smoothly anymore.... will try this definitely! cheers

I just came to say thank you! I used wd40 and it works... when the main green brushes started working, there was quite a sound but after wd40 it went.. by the way, it still thrown same error few times (I didn't do a reset) but I kept overriding from my app and now it seems ok. will see how long will that last.

It's hard to say. I would disassemble it and just check to see if there's anything obvious being careful of the high voltage obviously.

Hello, awesome video. I just bought one of these and have the actual remote. I would like to apply a firestick to it and make it a retro tv. I tried connecting my n64 console to it but it does not appear any recommendations? the screen doesn’t load anything when I try to change the AV channels it just stays blue on each one

Yes, AliExpress is a bit like the Wild West. Don't get me wrong I love it, it gives me access to things that I couldn't possibly have had 10 years ago. But as you say you do need to take care.
