I planted this on purpose 25 years ago because I saw a picture in Fine Gardening magazine of it combined with Echinacea. I've been trying to get rid of it for years!

I saw one crossing my yard, at first glance, I thought it was a snake. When I got closer and picked it up, it was a worm similar in size and look aside from an extra bit of Iridescence. I wonder if it would make good fishing bait...

I don’t know. Pollinators love it. I have some in an area where nothing else grows except vines and thorn bushes. It’s better than those things.

It's so annoying I have been telling people about them for 4 years now but people just dont believe me. The worst is the people who supposed to know about them don't. For instance landscaper and arborist.

Nope. The "Heath aster" (Symphyotrichum ericoides) is not in the Heath family. It is in the Asteraceae or Sunflower family, as are all asters. Heath is in the Ericaceae family.

Hiya. Need some expert help please. My bay tree was placed on my lawn and the bay has gone thru the bottom and is rooted into my lawn. It’s wedged firmly and I can only move the pot by tilting it.. I need a way to chop thru the bottom of the tree to free it from my grass. Hoping it won’t kill it but I’m having a shed fitted and need to move the 2 bay trees. (One is not stuck as firmly but still can’t be moved) thx

This method is completely useless with many trees, because as soon as the roots are stripped of the soil and exposed to the air they die immediately using this method... We need a before and after video... Thank you.

The tree was fine. The video was 11 years ago. As long as you keep the roots misted and from drying out they are fine.

So these have literally existed in America for generations now, and we used to just call them earthworms. But now, suddenly, they're jumping worms. Why, humanity, why? And before anyone says, "Waah but they're different!" No they are not. They are earthworms. Northern states do not have indigenous earthworms. Any earthworm you see is an invasive earthworm.

Thank you for your video!! My two mature Hollys are infected severely. After spraying with the spray oil do I eventually have to cut the bush back? Or can I just let the leaves drop off naturally?

It looks to me like you let the glue penetrate the interior of the branch, which I dont think is true that you ciould have made a video intending such. If you have better eyes, and see the glue only touches the outside of the branch, you are appreciated for correcting my uneasynesss with this video

I have a coral bark maple that did not leaf out this spring. Part of the tree is dead, while some limbs and branches remain pliable. I am in zone 7a . I believe the tree is getting too much direct sun, and it's planted in front of light colored siding, which may be causing damage also. We purchased a faux green screen to cover the siding . We are going to prune off the dead parts. We also planted another tree to help offer shade. I hope it makes it. We have 2 others that are breathtaking. We had a buck come through and run its antlers on our young Vanderwolf pine tree and left it for dead. I spoke to an arborist who said if it's still alive, why not let it share a new perspective. So I did. I put it in the center of a large bed, and I pruned it as a bonsai. It was about 3 feet, just a fraction of what it would have been had, not the deer damaged it, yet it made quite the focal point! Surrounded by roses, it was absolutely stunning It's been in place for about 6 years, and now wants to be a true Vanderwolf! It jumped 2 feet out of nowhere. Fortunately I have the space to accommodate the growth spurt, but I have grown so accustomed to it's smaller stature. I think it' wants to take me on a new journey and I'm here for it! I don't know east the future holds for my coral bark but I'm hopeful it will give me a beautiful gardening story to add to the books.

tear all that shit out, bulldoze your entire property, plant native seeds, grow a native meadow, grow a native landscape. That's my advice; just looking at what you call a garden makes me vomit. No wonder you don't know much about ferns. YIKES.

Great information, thanks for posting. I've seen people who use cardboard boxes and can then basically compost the cardboard boxes at the end of the season. I tried that method last year and actually had better results than using the bags.
