I saw The Mission last night and realized this song (which I've been familiar with for some time) has a very deep meaning. It represents God's love and redemption. I'll never hear it as just a pretty song again.

Such a sad day for us all. To see so much respect for her from everyone, her family, her people and the world. I was particularly moved by the police escort she had from the police motorbike riders that were by her side throughout her journey to the Palace and then stopped to let her pass by with their heads bowed❤️. We loved her❤️

I have heard many variations, and instruments playing this, however the oboe is perfect for this piece. And I am sure Mr Morricone had this in mind when he composed it. Absolutely beautiful. Leaves one with goosebumps.

My 40th high school reunion is this August and I have the unfortunate but fulfilling job of doing the memorial every year. This year I am doing a PowerPoint presentation set to music. One of co-workers was a music major in college and she recommended this song. She walked down the aisle to it when she got married.

Whether I'm happy, struggling, or just going through an ordinary day, it resonates deep within my heart, sometimes even bringing tears to my eyes. I'm grateful to have discovered such incredible performances on this channel. I'm sure I'll be returning here many times to keep listening. Thank you for this amazing video.
