I fully agree, the piano sounds are really great. No samples, no boring presets.

as they say: different strokes for different folks! I like to do my drums in real time, playing along with the music already recorded.....also, I always seem to do better with a 1 measure countoff to get me ready......either way, you arrive at the same results, and getting there is all the fun with these keyboards of ours!!

Yes you can record them as pattern and modify them with piano roll.

Very good video but Yamaha has much better sounds. I had both Yamaha NP30 and Roland Rp30.. RP30 has a really bad piano sound although it costs twice the price of Yamaha NP30. The piano sound of Motif or Montage is much much better even with no effects.
@RolandMusics18 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment. As I said Yamaha put a good Piano present for marketing purposes. In Roland you must make the piano sound according to your music and taste.
@makximumlive16 күн бұрын
@@RolandMusics No. If you buy any Synth Workstation from both companies, you can actually CREATE YOUR OWN PIANO SOUND. That's what they're made for. Creation. MOTIF, MOX, MOXF, JUPITER-80 and JUPITER-50, FANTOM (OLD AND NEW VERSIONS), can allow you to do this. And the previous comment was true. Don't forget, Yamaha has been manufacturing acoustic pianos since the early 1900's.
@RolandMusics16 күн бұрын
@@makximumlive Yes of course with both Fantom and Yamaha Montage we can create our own Piano sound. But as I said Yamaha put a wondaful piano sound on initial setting for Marketing purpose. If you spend time and work on sound in Fantom you can create good Piano sound too. Moreover, if a Piano sound looks good (As Yamaha montage) it does not mean it's useful for any music. because we have to modify and adjust the Piano sound for each track according to it's environment and sound characteristics.
@Bruce.-Wayne13 күн бұрын
It's more like Sampling vs Modeling....Montage use Sampling which records the actual sound of the acoustic piano at different velocities where as Fantom use the Modeling format which allows you to recreates the piano sound from scratch into your liking, tastes, etc....
@RolandMusics13 күн бұрын
@@Bruce.-Wayne Yes you are right. Unfortunately most buyer thing it's good to have a good stand alone Piano sound (a pre-set Piano sound like montage) and they thing that Piano sound will work for any kind for music. Base on my experience we have to create and adjust the Piano sound based on the Music style, Rhythm, Vocal and so many other factors. having a good Sample piano sound is not an advantage for a Synth. We need good source sound to create the Piano Sound.

someone any idea how I connect the Fantom to Imac compunter via USB, I tried everything but nothing worked for me. 😞
@RolandMusics18 күн бұрын
Which DAW are you using? normally when you connect Fantom to your computer with USB port and connect you computer to internet the driver install automatically. other wire go to Roland website and download the driver.

I use the Apple iPad and I need to use a camera connection kit adapter cable with the normal usb cable to connect the iPad to the keyboard - a generic one will not work as Apple have made sure of this cos I bought a cheap £3 cable and it would not work and I had to pay £29 for the real thing from Apple

Do you know if it's possible for the Fantom EX to start and stop the recording of audio in Cubase Transport. This would be so I could do all my midi recording in the Fantom sequencer but record the audio in Cubase. Specifically, I would love to record the audio in Cubase with the pattern loop recording in the Fantom. Again, starting and stopping the Cubase audio tracks with the sequencer in the Fantom rather than midi recording in Cubase. I would also want to control all midi instrument and recording channels in the Fantom's sequencer. NOTE: I don't use vst instruments only sounds in my synths etc.
@RolandMusics18 күн бұрын
I don't have EX Update yet, so I am not sure if goes well with Cubase. but Roland declare that EX update resolve the compatibility with Cubase.

In the sequencer can you record the reverb within that tone? Let’s say you record something with that reverb and then change the reverb globally, will that recorded reverb change because you now changed the reverb? Can you save that reverb for that one sound within a scene so that you can have different types of reverbs or change how much reverb for a particular sound for different scenes?

Please HELP - Fantom-0 connect per USB, Headphones in Fantom (Local OFF). Cubase 13 only One MIDI/Audio Track play MIDI in LOOP. MIDI Data goes to Fantom i.E. Piano which I hear in the Phones (but I don't want to hear THIS). Additional I hear (this one I want to hear) the Cubase Audio Track with my Insert-Fx to distinguish the 2 Tones. Whatever I try the Fantom plays it's naked Original Tone too. HOW CAN I HEAR ONLY CUBASE's Tracks ?

Try having USB channel on Roland full and try to have all red buttons of Fantom on each channel off.

Hei, I would like to ask you if you could show us whenn recording in the fantom sequencer different snaps, and then to export them to Cubase to proceed to work , is that possible? and second question, I have already a inerface when using cubase, do you suggest du use the usb interface with fantom or can you use both of them, like first recording with usb and then editing with the auditointerface in cubase. thank you so much for your clarification Chris
