What brand of flooring are you guys using ? Also, any recommendations for making 4 different floor colors/patterns work? 😂 We have three doorways off our main Kitchen so you kind of see into them when in the main kitchen. I wanted to do laminate in those rooms, and my husband said I can have those floors done faster if I don’t care if all the rooms match, and we go to Marden’s 😂 Good luck on the kitchen renovation, very excited for you !!
@TheNightOwl12125 күн бұрын
Hampton Bay! It’s like a wood floor looking tile, they have a few color options! And oooh haha, that’s tricky! Mardens in Waterville had a TON of flooring last time we went, you might be able to find enough to do everything the same! If not, maybe just try to get a similar color scheme across all the rooms for the floors? I can say you aren’t alone and that would drive me nuts and I’d need it to be all the same lol!
@TheNightOwl12124 күн бұрын
Scratch that, they’re Allen + Roth haha, clearly I’ve looked at too many options 🤣

Went back to see your kitchen tour from a few years ago. Actually pretty nice. Understand replacing countertops. Mine is orange Formica (hate it) but just now getting caught up with more important projects. If the fridge and stove are going to remain where they are, I suggest ditching the L-shape counter, which also makes access to upper cabinets difficult. I'd make a free standing island (round) roughly in front of the stove. Food prep is now closer to stove and fridge (less steps). This will also free up space where the L island was for the future dishwasher (mid-way between sink and dining. Just my two cents for what I might do. Have fun, but I know you won't!!!!
@TheNightOwl12125 күн бұрын
Great ideas! We didn’t fully ditch the L-shape but now can access those cabinets with the L moved down! An island by the stove would be awesome but there’s not enough walking space unfortunately with the wood stove there and there needing to be a path to the primary bedroom. Will definitely be a fun and stressful project, but luckily as it was posted today the cabinets are moved and the sink is installed, so progress! 🎉

Is the metal roof noisy when it rains? Metal roof’s seem like a good idea.
@TheNightOwl12126 күн бұрын
It’s definitely louder, but I enjoy the sound! I wouldn’t say it’s like annoyingly loud-just pleasant 😊 the metal roof will last us ~60 years, definitely an investment but very worth it we think! We live in a very windy valley so shingles flying off are a problem haha

I get maby having a wedding that is less formal in the sense that it’s not really a formal sit down dinner that’s either played and served individually or as a buffet but instead choosing to have it either as a more you can make a plate of food off of a buffet when you want and their not being such a formal seating arrangement or just having appetizers either being served by wait staff or on a buffet but should be plentiful that your guests don’t feel hungry but however you choose to provide food you NEED to provide enough to allow guests eat and feel satisfied

Im a bartender and had a woman do the same shake thing but with a cocktail. She kept sipping it and saying no to me as i was getting backed up with a lot of people waiting. I ended uo throwing the drink in her face and yelling at security to get her away from me. People do this on purpose in order to get more for less. This is a control move that narsissts love to play to pump up their miserable selfs. Never let them step on you.

Why not add some grass clippings to the garden? Probably good idea to till the clippings in and then add the manure. Also be careful with the manure. Can be burn hazard to the plants.
@TheNightOwl1212Ай бұрын
Oh, very good idea! And that’s good to know about the burn hazard as well! Planted a couple weeks ago and the corn is up, as well as some sunflowers. Hoping the rest will be up by this weekend. This heatwave is certainly rough but good for the garden at least! I’ll take this over the washout we had last year!

Portland, Oregon born, Pioneer Family, I may very well be looking towards Maine to retire in about 3 years. The Californians and home prices have made this not home anymore. I have an 8 year old with ADHD. He’s not a “runner” but he is a wanderer. He’s also very short for his age. When we went to Disney World last October, we used a wrist leash. One side attached to his wrist. The other either went on our wrist or our backpack. The peace of mind alone was worth it! And we were not the only one that had something similar. I saw a variety of similar things for a variety of ages. We explained to him it was to keep him safe and so he could walk without worries. He had no issue with it at all and even wants to use it in other places. You do what you gotta to keep your baby safe!

The Disney snack bottle looks like the exact one I saw at Costco! They are a 2pk if I remember… sad that someone sold you one so expensive when it’s about that price for 2 at Costco.

We have a Sam’s membership so I’m going to definitely check there! I just saw they’re on Amazon too and it looks like they occasionally go on sale. It’s sturdy so $15 isn’t terrible but the shipping was what got me haha, so finding them in person would definitely be better!

Loved the backpack! The style with the tether is amazing for crowded areas. We had a ninja baby who could dash and disappear in seconds. It was the only way we could keep him safe out of the stroller and allow him his ”big boy" freedom. Plus for any naysayers, our kiddo is now 17 and no permanent psychological harm was done 😂

Ahhhh, parenting! Pictures and movies that you take of him are for you. As a male I can tell you we could care less about baby pictures. However, the ones for trips and the ones of you and Brandon and relatives are more important. I can tell you I wish I had more pictures of mom & dad, siblings, grandparents etc. Once he hits daycare and kindergarten (just learned kindergarden is incorrect) you can expect all the fantastic illnesses that will come.
