It was seriously so cool to see all of the “imperfections” as we were cleaning them! We believe they date pretty far back!

lol yes agreed but buying all new bricks for the hearth wasn’t in the budget unfortunately. With the stove placed back on it, stacks of wood, the pokers, etc. it’s a bit less noticeable. Gotta love those old bricks though, I wish I could’ve done the whole wall in those too!

The year has seriously flown by! I’m glad we had all that mild fall weather to motivate me for the outside projects haha! The cucumber was decent! I cut around the center which was quite mushy with the seeds because of its size but otherwise it was good in my salads that week! I’m still in awe of how big it was 😂

AH! I could not figure out what that was from hahaha, def the wreath! Most likely an old one we had out there with a metal frame. That whole door needs to be replaced eventually but maybe in the meantime I’ll paint it 🤔 (in the spring😅)

I did! It’s slightly desaturated haha, so it looks more like what the naked eye sees. The camera was making it SO bold lol, I didn’t want you all thinking I was too crazy 😂😂 It really is so pretty 🥰

We’ve been definitely playing around with the lighting in the kitchen because of that! The flush mount we bought is a daylight tone and then the other two lights are warm. On camera it makes it so hard to tell, I just need all of you to come and stand in the kitchen to see it 😂😂 It is such a happy color, I agree! 🥰

@@TheNightOwl1212 My husband and I are headed back to Boston next fall to visit one of our closest couples. New Hamphire, Vermont, and Maine are on the agenda, but I really don't think you want us knocking on your door to see the kitchen! I can play in Kuler color the next time I'm building a course in Storyline and see what they're supposed to look like. (The green in the inspo video looks like a battleship grey, but it is stunning on the walls and most definitely green!)

Yes it’s definitely a commitment to do it!! And yes, I’m glad I ended up sticking with it! I still am not a huge fan of it under the lights in the kitchen after dark but during the day and golden hour it’s exactly what I wanted, thankfully!

I get that. Overhead lighting, while essential for cooking properly, is unfortunately rarely aestheticly pleasing 😅

Thank you! Those knobs were an Amazon find for very cheap. The screws that came with them were too short so Brandon had to actually use a forstner bit and inset them from the back. So much behind the scenes I couldn’t fit into these vids but im just glad to have a very handy husband with all the tools 😂 and yes we saved a TON of money refinishing them like this! New ones just weren’t in the budget and would have had to be custom sizes since the cabinets are all custom built to the house but luckily we had some long summer nights to get it done! Teddy definitely loves loud stuff and music 😂 current favorite instrument is his harmonica lol!

I believe it's not always about saving your time and/or money, but making it work with what you already have. The energy they put into this renovation will stay with them, because they will use the kitchen every day 🥰 Anyone can go to the store and buy a new cabinets, but not everyone will make their own kitchen! I admire you, guys! Keep up the good work ❤️

@@sunsun980thank you! Yes we definitely have developed the mindset of “what can we do with this to make it better?” throughout the entire house. Brandon also loves a good challenge- he’s pretty proud of those cabinets because you really could never guess they’re the same doors as before!
