I appreciate this reaction so much, i knew there was something here. All reactors/listeners dont express the feel of song. When you mime a conductor, or motion the direction...thats someone that feels the music the way i do. If youre never heard it, i implore you to react to The Spinners - I Love The Music. Ive adoped it as the anthem for the lovers of true SOUL music

I wore this album out. What a time to be alive. Still her best album to date. IMO! Vanishing wrecked me from the start, still my #1 song from her, EVER! Thanks for the memory.

I always loved and anticipated the releases of a Teena Marie album. Teena always had a gorgeous original poem on the album cover, and Teena’s original lyrics printed on the album sleeve! Then to see on each album cover the words: Written, arranged and produced by Teena Marie! I was always in awe of this musical and lyrical genius! Teena was and is the embodiment of soul music with many diverse influences. She goes far beyond the cliche of being “blue eyed soul.”

This Album Was Released On October 6 1994 By Bad Boy Records And Arista Records It Peaked At Number 15 On The Billboard Hot 200 Charts The Album Would Soon Become A Commercial Success With It Selling 57,000 Copies In Its First Week. Then It Sold Over 500,000 Copies And Was Certified Gold Two Months After Release On December 15 1994. Then It Sold Over One Million Copies And Was Certified Platinum On October 15 1995. Production Was Handled By Puff Daddy Chucky Thompson And Devante Sawing. I Think 🤔 He Was 17 Years Old Signing To Bad Boy Records With B.I.G And Craig Mack That Year This Album Was Recorded At Quad Studios And D&D Studios He Took A Three Year Hiatus From Music Cause Puffy Got More Artist And Usher Released His Second Album In 1997 Also On Bad Boy Records.

I LOVE your reaction! It was almost as entertaining as Aretha's performance!!! You might not be familiar much with Aretha and her music but she's the most versatile singer in the history of recorded American music, thus far (2024)! She was so uninhibited, and she was never afraid to express herself despite anyone's disapproval! I LOVED that about her (and in people in general) as much as her music!!!

Life of the party always had me envisioning “Eyes Wide Shut” and Cirque Du Soleil with a dark dungeon theme as the song takes you through the house of balloons and the vibes of uncertainty and anxiety while being coerced by the Host of Abel

16:19 you are from a different generation where music is attached to a short clip. Songs back then did need to be long enough for a person to get into the song. And the Bridge of a song actually hooked you to the song. Songs back then were not attached to short clips.

This album was a good album. It was well produced. I bought it when I was 13 years old. Plus in the 90s it was so much good music, it was a lot of competition.
