I remember going on the Dewline in 1986 and flying on the 227's to the auxiliary sites like cam 5, cam 4, pin 3 and pin 2 before Bradley first air came in with the HS 748's. I spent about 9 years on the line before it closed in 1993 and North Warning with Frontec took over what was left. A lot of good people and good memories from the good old days. Not sure if Nordair continued after the line or closed, nice to see footage of people, planes and sites.

Baby harp seals are probably the cutest thing in the World, but the fact so many of them are still horrendously massacred just because of their fur actually makes me so sad, I cannot even look at them. What's the point of cuddling them, when maybe just some ours later a ship of sealers might arrive, crush their skulls with clubs, then quarter and skin them while still alive? The same pups in this video might have encountered such an horrendous destiny, I cannot look at them...

I wish the quality was better ! But these moments are among the best I have had in my life and I owe them to great friends and the whole Hall Beach community. Ben Arnardjuaq tought me so much about nature, life, friendship, achievement and happyness may he rest in peace. All the best to you in YUX, stay safe and thanks for your kind comment. I will probably post more Hall Beach images from the 80s,circumstances permitting.

Right on, this footage brings back some amazing memories of a few summers on the DEWline, wish there was a way to relive them 30 years after the fact. When Canada was still a very proud country and globalism was still a bad dream.

Looks like cam 5 ice strip fuel drop. I spent 8 months there in 86 and 87 recognized the mechanic and equipment operator walter ignatenko and martin egan. I think one of the bradley pilots had said that the 748 had the wrong or no primer before painting. We used to call it the space shuttle re entry pealing. I spent about 9 years on the dewline and for a young guy it was a cool place to work if you could handle the isolation. Good video
