Have an ABS/ESP & pre save malfunction fault along with power steering going on my 2004 mercedes s500 4matic. Took it to the shop and told me it was the axle is going back and something with it throwing off the sensor. Also told me that it would be a couple thousand to fix it. I'm deciding if it's worth fixing myself or if I can even do it myself
@RetroCarsForever4 сағат бұрын
Those MB's can be complicated to fix. My advice is to look up that specific problem on forums and KZbin and anywhere you can. Hopefully someone out there has run into the same issue. Then you can see what it takes to actually fix it, and see if its comfortably within your skill set. Good luck!

I would really like to see a Comparison between the 1996 Grand Sport and the C4 ZR-1. Can you set that up? The 1996 Grand Sport is the C4 ZR-1 with an LT4 engine. Everything the ZR-1 has the Grand Sport also has, but the engine. That is the comparison to do.
@RetroCarsForever2 күн бұрын
The ONLY mechanical difference between a Grand Sport and the silver LT4 Z51 featured in this video is the Grand Sport has rear tires that are a bit wider. It might've narrowed the gap a tad, but I doubt it would've had an enormous difference.
@LeviHeatonIII2 күн бұрын
@RetroCarsForever We will never know. Thanks for the response. From what I have heard on other channels the tires are the same size as the ZR-1. When we are talking about half a second, I bet it would have made quite a difference. . Doesn't the grand sport have the same suspension as the ZR-1 also? Am I correct that the Grand Sport has everything the ZR-1 has, but the engine? I heard that on another car channel

Many similar situations don’t know how many times I’ve wanted a little extra Sound than stock and what I got was a drone filled cab rattling everything and driving me crazy going through it right now put an exhaust system on my 2022 Ford F250 MPI exhaust claimed no drone that was BS for sure. maybe I should just leave well enough alone. This car is all stock with the exception of a new radiator to help it run cooler and a air intake. I love the sound of the engine and the exhaust together even though it’s very quiet at least you don’t alert the cops you’re coming every time you put the throttle to the floor. gonna check out some of the corsa vids now. Would love to come visit California someday I’m in New Hampshire driving my Corvette through those canyon roads I’m sure would be something I would never forget too bad about the wildfires going on right now. It’s a shame for the people and all the animals that are perishing every day.
@RetroCarsForever3 күн бұрын
Yeah, drone is a common problem with exhaust systems, even with companies that claim no drone. I think because it's subjective, and seems to irk some people more than others. It must REALLY drone bad if you can feel/hear it in a big truck!

Definitely check out my C4 Muffler review, where I go into drone and what I'd recommend- kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWnXaJKOmb16r8k For this ZR-1, although the exhaust was pretty loud, it didn't drone, because it was a well designed cat-back system.

Corvettes in general new and used are WAY over priced,in the last 10 years you have had the stupid side of society pay whatever the seller wanted and now every corvette owner trying to sell wants WAY more than its worth hoping to get that stupid person to come and look at their cars.
@RetroCarsForever8 күн бұрын
I'd disagree that Corvettes are way overpriced...In the past six years, I've ended up buying three different Corvettes (C4, C5, and C6). Each time I test drove at least a dozen other fun used cars, and each time I end up with a Corvette because of the great value that they are, and how well they're generally kept in shape. Especially when you compare an equivalent Corvette to a Japanese sports car or a BMW, which are worth thousands more for similar or even less performance/reliability/comfort/luxury/cargo space/style. There's too many Corvettes out there on the market for any one owner to charge whatever he wants, and that's another reason why Corvettes remain (IMO) good values.

I've owned many examples of both brands over the years, and currently own both a Chevy and a Ford, so I've never been a huge fan/hater of one over the other. I'm just glad both are still around supporting American industry. You're right though, as far as business decisions go, Ford has generally the better track record over the past few decades.
@punxnotdead18510 күн бұрын
It would have been nice to see a later C4 ZR1 with 405hp, but I get you're accounting for price in this comparison. They have a lot of updates in the later ones though that just make them a better car all around, I think they even lightened up the gearset in the trans so they shift better, the early ones they over built the trans because I heard they were thinking of making a turbo version so they had the trans built for that by ZF but by 93 they gave up on that idea and had the gearset lightened up to shift better.
@RetroCarsForever10 күн бұрын
A later 405 hp ZR-1 would've smoked the LT4, and yeah, totally different price point. That said, if I were spending money on a ZR-1, I'd wait and save up for a later year, which was blessed not only with more speed but more refinement and safety features.

Another problem is the accelerator pedal mount. I had been autocrossing and doing track days in my 93 for a couple years. I was at a track day and a friend of mine asked if I replaced the plastic accelerator mount because they break easily. I told him I never heard about it or had a problem with it. The very next session it broke and I was done for the day. I ordered an aluminum one when I got home.

I did the same with my C4 with just about every drive. It cuts in very suddenly, and the pedal pushback always feels bizarre. My "butt sensor" was better than the car's sensors! However, the traction control got much better with the C5 and C6 which I owned later...I leave both of those on, especially as those cars also had more power.

i bought a 96 LT4 polo green with 85k in 2008 own it for 9 years. Had a strange noise from engine it was the cam with a worn out lobe and bad lifter. My father helped me and wee put the gm performance part "hot cam" with new valves springs and seals of corse, upgraded the timing chain with a heavy duty one he did a old trick for the oil pump he told me put a steel ball between the spring in it too give an edge of more pressure. All this outside not in a garage the engine still on the car later it was a aftermarket performance shorty headers with ceramic coating and new flywheel and clutch. I loved that car it was a dream realized i was 26 years old, munch younger i wanted a ZR-1. I lost one time and close to a second time my driving licence, no choice too sell it, like my father i cant have fast car. the feeling in the 3rd and 4th speed at 6200k was priceless good memories about all that i even dream about this during sleep. Really cool to see these 2 models side by side in a video really a great idea. And just to give more on the mysteries of the LT4 i had meet a ZR-1 on high way he was ahead me and pof saw some blue smoke from exhaust i knew he down shifted too nail it and i swear he dint leave me at all a LT4 with a cam is equal to a LT5.
