It sure did. The curb appeal of the car is undeniable, especially as most of the women found it "Cute" at first...But their opinions seemed to mostly change when they realized the raw, uncivilized ferocity underneath!

True, but from my research that wasnt the main motivation for the side pipes. Which were included more as a nod to the past/increase in “attitude”.

“There is traffic. There are stop lights.” Not out where I live. You can drive for miles on roads out here, and the only stop signs are at the end of the road and on the sides for cross traffic. 65 mph speed limit. Curvy. Perfect for driving

Thanks, my fave too! In a perfect world all 10 cars woulda been lined up in a row and all 10 women could've sat/ridden in them, but logistically it would've been a nightmare to achieve that without the women actually seeing the men. Especially during quarantine!

Viper guy here, pretty interesting episode. So a '94 model Viper is considered a Gen1 and is the most basic of all the models. Future generation Vipers received better interiors with airbags and antilock brakes. The appeal of the first-generation fiber is the rawness of the car which is what it was meant to be in the first place. That said, I think the women would have responded better to a second or third generation Viper that had a little bit more sophistication to them (and more power).

In retrospect, I think you're right that later Vipers would've done better. Going into this social experiment I wasnt sure what the women would or wouldn't respond to, so I picked some more extreme examples (like this early Viper) to learn from. And there was a lot we learned!

@@RetroCarsForever In the same vein of "dangerous-yet-exhilarating", I would have loved to see an 80s or early 90s Porsche 911 (especially a turbo or something with a whale-tail/duckbill) in the mix here. The mix of uniquely approachable styling and practicality would have been really interesting. Nonetheless, a great cross-section of the "automotive-human condition" in this group! Fingers crossed to see the tables turned in a future series.

This was really funny to hear...a bit of truth to how most "normal" people think about their cars. So many car enthusiasts happily motor around in what they know full well are "death traps"...To them a car is a way to really let loose and live on the edge. A way to get OUT of their "safe space!"

But the best soundbite had to be Jenny who started out trashing two guys she knows and then says they are the sweetest guys in the world. Talk about a "journey".

LOL, a MoPar at the top of the list and a Mopar at the bottom of the list...this explains why women are from Venus and men are from Mars. If car guys were interviewed on the same vehicles the list would be completely opposite of this.

Thanks! I wish it would've done better as this was THE CAR when I was a kid. But yeah, guess it makes sense that they wouldnt be thrilled about a stupid fast car with no safety features, side windows, AC, with skin-scalding side pipes! Ive found that a lot of the stuff that car enthusiasts dig is the OPPOSITE of what non-car enthusiasts like.

WOW. Now That was a interesting watch. I love yet hate the viper. Hate the nose, too rounded, but love it from there back. Love side pipes (cobra), but not the type on the viper. Love the v10, but the cockpit is WAY to tight for me. Tried to test drive one once, Sat in it and just said nope! Too tight for me to drive comfotably. Personally not worried about the safety, as it is what it is. Like a cobra, its about the car, the machine.

Man ı really love vipers too. This Little leg burning V10 on wheels dead angel is really cool :D But Man who drives a gen1 viper on road. Like it's almost have 0 protection features. You can open this things hood without anything! But seriously this is my dream car. (Of course ı prefer one with some protection features but still)

It's true, later Vipers all seemed to "fix" many of the rough edges that the earlier cars had, and would've likely done a lot better with these women. But there's something extra special and pure about these very early Vipers...Pure hot rods, no excuses!

@@RetroCarsForever She's definitely aware, but she admitted that even though it's the car she loves the most, she wouldn't be able to live with daily driving it, and she definitely prefers the newer gens. Her second pick was the Wrangler and 3rd was the BMW, so if she had to pick a daily she said it would be one of those. Great video btw!

The girl with the red hair is wife material. The girl with the short hair is way cute but i feel like she'd save me from a lot of dumb decisions I'd make. The girl with the glasses sounds like she'd be fun to cruise with and talk. The girl with the purplish hair is cool but would probably not like the way i drive. All of these ladies are quite bright, but you can’t be rational or even thoughtful when discussing the Viper. It’s too visceral. I’d like to see each of them experience it. As an aside, please have the ladies in more videos. Love their perspectives.

I just love the exterior and interior proportions and design. This is such a great example to a great designed car that fcked up during the building process. Terrible build quality etc. I can imagine what this specific car could become if it built by Audi or Porsche. Same exact exterior and interior design but just with some Audi, Poersch quality in the body, tranny, motor, interior quality, body panels etc.
