So....Since you added A LOT of new dust to the surface to be coated, why didn't you pressure wash, possibly use a dust removing cleaner, and allow ample dry time prior to coating???? Just observing, just thinking, just not understanding why you would smooth a surface that is to be coated when that surface is never going to be seen once backfilled, AND, new concrete shrinks as it cures and will be absorbing pretty much what ever you put on it, hence that dust will case the new water proofer to not have the best/proper adhesion. Especially if you don't allow the proper minimum of 28 days cure time. Doesn't make any sense to me to grind down form joints that will never be seen and then not clean prior to applying a coating, especially if the new substrate is not allowed that proper cure time. Maybe you know something that I don't. OR, maybe, you are not giving your customer the best quality work/job. Just sayin!!

5:00 Not to quibble, but you can’t “transfer cold energy” from the stem wall to the heated slab. Thermal energy can only be transferred from warm to cool. Regardless, the thermal break is a great detail. Great video! I just wish it was longer. Thanks.

Understood. You are correct. Knowing this now that cold does not seek warm - the warm is seeking the cold. Always learning! Thanks for watching.
