I liked Game Winning RBI... Not every stat has to actually be a measure of winningness... Sometimes it's just about moments.

Exactly what someone else commented on here…Darvish realized he could inspire and draw more kids (American and Japanese) to baseball by playing in the US - and still make millions.

Dude, George tells that manager at the mike your fired and the manager says you haven't hired me yet. Loved his reasoning why he invested so much into team because fans invested in team. Also, his charity philosophy.

I'm a different person than him I would have hated the prank but the sheer intricacy of would have impressed me enough to overlook it. But most people would have been so stressed about it. Being mad about is also fair.

If it stays in the locker room, it's a harmless prank. They involved his agent, the press corps, and did it in a scrum. That's not a harmless prank.

My unc prank called me saying he was a coach for Oregon state football and this is when football was my life and I would get invited to all these football camps for free and he had told me he seen my highlights and seen me at camps and that he wanted to meet with me and my family and obviously I was excited because we were living in a 2 bedroom apartment with me my mom and my 7 siblings and I run to my moms room excited as can be and told her all about it and even started crying because I felt that I had earned it. 20 minutes later he calls back laughing and I can hear multiple other people in the background laughing too and I knew then that it was my unc. Still fucked me up to this day.

Watch the full video dude. Kendrick thought it was funny. Nothing he said in this video is true other than the prank. Kyle kendrick played 6 more years with the team after this and the team won the World Series this season so I really doubt that prank bothered him once they held the trophy up. Also players can’t get traded to completely different leagues, obviously they knew he was gullible. he was beloved by his teammates and continues to show support for his former teammates who were on this very team when the Phillies retire them

Greatest owner of all-time. When George Steinbrenner died, so did the New York Yankees. His son, Hal, is an absolute disgrace, as the Yankees are now all about being mediocre. Nobody is held accountable for their pathetic, losing ways. God bless you, George Steinbrenner, this is one Yankee fan who always loved you. You are sorely missed, by us Yankee fans, who put winning above all else.

Yea, I remember him really well. He was GOAT-tier for a short period of time. I was obsessed with him when I was a kid. Great player. His lack of longevity is why we should appreciate (edit: more than we do) great athletes who are somehow able to maintain elite-level performance over their entire careers, like Brady or LeBron.

@@dukes1993724 Didn't realize his peak was so short. Your comment prompted me to check his career stats. His '98-'00 were off the charts, and honestly '97 too, esp. for his first full season. 2001 was his first injury-disrupted year. He recovered really well in '03 and '04, had two fantastic years. After leaving BOS, career seems to have fallen off a cliff, at least relative to his early HOF numbers. Had a great year in '06 for LA but still nothing compared to his BOS years. Retired shortly thereafter. But despite the dramatic loss in form, never really had a bad year, esp. in light of injuries. Must have had immense natural ability that even shone through depleted physical ability from '01 onwards. Great player.
