A shame with the poor sound quality - because they play the songs with the right speed - not the crazy high speed they changed to later.

The start of their 2nd coming. Walked on walked off 45 minutes later. Reminded everyone one. Not a glam band but one of the greatest live rock bands that ever existed

I was Slade mad when this came out, when i played this song my mom asked me to play it again she loved it so much, i can still hear her singing it today as she worked in the kitchen.

The hit singles of course were great records but the teeny bop image the records got for Slade deflected from what they were,a great LIVE rock band.

Slade 1973 was my first concert at 11 years old and every other gig has compared to that. Ear splitting volume and great chant along tunes. Felt sorry for anyone sharing a stage with those guys. One of the greatest rock vocalists of all time who smashed it every time I saw them

Like anyone else there that day it was a special moment, especially to a spotty 16 year old who had grown up with slade in the early 70s but certainly didn't expect them to be there that weekend ,amongst whitesnake maiden gillan... cos of an ozzy non show, what a great 3 days we had ,even the cans hitting me on the head couldn't wipe the happy grin off me,singing Merry Christmas everybody in august seemed a different lifetime ago. Happy days...

I'm almost sure it was Tommy Burton who played the piano on this song, he was a popular pub pianist around Bilston and the black country.

I’m a die hard Slade fan from the 70’s, but also AC/DC, Rush, Rainbow, Springsteen. To see Slade at Reading was off the chart, I’ve never forgotten it. Or the whole chicken flying thru the air 😂 Noddy and that voice, he is the best

All my mates were Quo fans, and i was a Slade fanatic, i had seen them live a few times and Quo too, i finally talked my Quo mates to come and see Slade live at the Civic Hall Wolverhampton, they still say to this day that it was by far the best concert they had ever been to, and admit that Slade were the best band they ever saw live, and the loudest lol.
