What another wonderful song from Merle ,his voice was so unique in every way possible and no one shall ever be able to compete against him not in our era anyhow. Although his son Ben sounds so very much indeed like his late father's voice. ELIZABETH in SCOTLAND ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Merle and Bonnie, were made for each other ALWAYS, but Merle was to much a womanizer, silly man as Bonnie Haggard was perfect in every way possible. Rip BOTH of you ALWAYS ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Going by his bio book this was his worst drinking period 1981. He was drinking heavily. He cleaned up the following year and lost 25 pounds.

There will NEVER be a Steel Guitar, like Buddy Emmons! And we saw and heard him; when he was only 16 yrs; in the 50's. When he came down to Nashville. And made most ALL musicians crazy, hearing him. And most Great SG'rs all the world, said the same. And "Blue Jade" was one of the greatest He wrote. Example: the Japanese wanted Him to come and play. And when Buddy played Blue Jade; MOST ever person; had tears in their eyes. And when he finished it; one of the Japanese SG players said, "That song HAD to be in Japan! And they kept on; because they couldn't believe what Buddy had that on that song. And he did SO many things and features in his life! And did things that know others could not do. May Jesus rest his precious Soul. (A dear friend) and I miss him so much.

Buddy was one of the greatest simply because he played just as simple or as complicated as the job required. He never overplayed just because he could.

This is 1981 not 1991. Gord’s voice still has most of the lower register resonance that disappeared some time in 1983 or 84. And is evident in the Salute album. 1981 was when the Shadows album was released.
@stevestruthers6180
@stevestruthers6180 7 ай бұрын
The loss of lower register was likely due to a combination of aging, and weight loss from quitting drinking. Gordon quit drinking in late 1982.
