I clearly remember that this was the first time i heard Bridge over troubled waters. I watched it on NTA Channel 5,Lagos, Nigeria. This was way before we had cable tv in Nigeria

When you come back to this after listening to it 5 years ago, and its still the best around, you know you’re listening to pure genius. But with an axe of a name like Martin and Taylor, guess we should expect this 😀 Awesome gentleman he is 🌈

Probably the best vocalist ever in our genre---and maybe beyond. Shane was incomparable. Trying to think of who I just maybe like better. Drawing a blank.

When your average mortal gets that smashed, usually the best they can hope for is a restraining order, or worse. Gotta love that Irish blood man, nothin' will dampen that everlasting song in their heart. And that's the Pogues 👊

Not only it this a very good track, from a musical perspective, but the sentiments expressed should also resonate with anyone who left their birth place in the hope of finding a better life elsewhere. ‘I left, always hoping to return. But never did.. . .’

One of Great Shane's songs. Underestimated I think, so evoking of I am sure of many, many people from a certain background can relate to. Brilliant. God Bless and thank you Shane.

I love the idea of the students of The Student Union being addressed from the steps of the main entry to the school as traditionally, such grand stairs were proportioned for just such occasions.

She admired her much (In 80s Whitney was booed by crowd for being nominated for R&B category at American Music Awards, after Anita won she made a point to thank Whitney and Houston family in her acceptance speech).
