Excellent introduction to Performer Lite.

Anyone in 2024 using a MOTU unit to control CV?

Are there any plans to add the ability to scale the VST windows? It's turned into a complete pain to deal with them because they stay so small on a high rez monitor. Right now the only solution is adding another monitor that can be switched to a lower resolution.

Why do more DAWs not have something like this? As far as I can tell, it's only DP, Bitwig, and (kinda) PT. This is such a huge deal to me. Especially the fact that when you find the command you'd like to run, DP reveals the keyboard shortcut (if there is one) so you can learn an even faster way of doing that particular action. It really greatly reduces the learning curve of a DAW as complex as DP.

If the 'Talk' hard drives were being continually backed up onto DAT and extensive notes re board settings were taken, is it a possibility that on, say, the 35th anniversary of 'Talk' an immersive remix could be done? The extra live content included in the 30th anniversary edition was cool, but (especially as Trevor did good 5.1 mixes of the Rio album) surely the album multitracks could be reconstituted and fresh mixes done? The music is truly outstanding and so merits this. Please think about it!

I'm in desperate need of assistance here. I just bought the G-Track Pro and I'm trying to register it so I can acceess Performer Lite through MOTU. I have everything entered EXCEPT "Product you are registering *" G-Track Pro is not an option. What do I select? I love this microphone and I've used it on bandlab via my android BUT, now I am trying to launch Performer Lite through my Windows PC. Please send feedback so I can use the hardware included in the G-Track Pro. Thanks in advance!

You have a triplet grid, OK. But could you please allow us to set an arbitrary prime number for the divisions? Like why just 3? Why can't I see quintuplet grid? Septuplet grid? 11th-note grid? I realize the stone age musicians of the past just had triplets or divisions of 2 only, but really it's 2024, give me note grids defined by any prime.

If any Mac users are getting stuck in update mode, try turning off the wifi if you have it on (otherwise go offline) so the only active network connection is the local one between your Mac and the MOTU interface. This made my interface instantly start the update process and I was done inna few minutes.

Motu . работает но всё сырое - недоделанное . формат файлов только wav aiff . нет окна поиска , нет фильтров поиска . работает прослушка файла только по клику мыши (это сверх неудобно !) при самом запуске прослушиваемого файла звучат артефакты . how would a person you these interfaces and the mixing app for IEM RIgs? For example maybe using a 16a and an 828 chained together to be used in the app as a stage rack for musicians monitors? FYI those mixers show that you can get 32 outputs. in this video it shows only 14. how would you be able to utilize all 32 outputs that you have available to you in the setup that i described?

I recently added a 24ao to my studio, where I already have an 24ai. I have updated all firmware (Im on a Mac Studio iOS 14) and updated all software, still Discovery will only show one of the units, which ever one I connect with the USB-cable. The second unit (daisy with the Cat5) does not show up at all. Both units work on their own and show up if I connect them individualy both with network cabel and USB. Wth am I missing?

I was almost excited, but true to MOTU form as all have said the dropped the ball AGAIN!! How to manipulate the signal chain would be real helpful, signal flow (top-> down??) as i dont want my EQ before compression. Also catalog all your videos and help into ONE area instead of spread all over outdated doc. Love the equipment but hate the current company

wish there was more videos on analog style "actually 'playing' with the human feel", then- being able to pitch correct, use effects ( Thats where DP pales in comparison to Pro Tools Pug ins), or drag a location if need be, to save time on a take. I was hoping to find something on bundles, as Ive never heard explainedbut I dont do MIDI. Quantizing makes people less aware of soulful grooves, but those grooves can be greatly enhanced with out taking the feel away. Many live acts have amazig aux parts, using DP. Thats making a living, and some of us are Musicians for a living and need good tools that dont require a degree in computer science.

very cool. I took this DP thing because it does the chunk/clipping/v rack and the clips which I want to try specifically for scoring. Cubase doesnt do clips yet

Gotta be the worst description of this really old and inferior software I’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t expect anyone to figure it out from this.

Motu's developers are guys who think we're in the same delirium as they are. Hey guys, I've got an idea: we're going to make an interface like a gas factory where even the basic settings will drive our users to depression. It's really, you buy the interface and you're on your own. Oh and last but not least, i'm sure that now that the 828 version 2024 is out, we can go to hell to get updates for our AVB interfaces.

is there anything like this for the m4?

Mellodyne does not load up in DP 11.3 for me. I downloaded it and registered it and DP finds it in a scan but I cant apply it to any of my tracks or use it as shown in the video. How about making a video about how to install it. I don't know why DP has to consistently be the hardest dam DAW to use, one of these days i'm just going to give up and move to <insert next DAW here>

Hello. But every time a new track is recorded, another portion of the monitoring delay is added, since the insertion in the previous tracks contains plugins that cause a delay. To avoid this, you must either turn off delay-causing plugins on the remaining tracks, or there must be a function (button) doing this, Something like "latency compensation limitation" like in other DAWs.

Holding X didn't work for me. So I used the Run Command line to switch to the Alternate Tool. Now I can't switch back to the Primary Tool. There's no command to do this that I can find. I had to restart my computer to get it to switch back to the primary tool. Is there a reason that the X modifier wouldn't function?

I had one of Trevors guitars from his Rabbitt days in SA. It was a 62 ES 335 which had a broken headstock. I repaired it and it was on its way back to its owner.

Does performer lite have delay compensation for plugins? Can it use plugins? I'll be receiving my new 828 USB 3 within 2 to 4 days according to tracking.

This is one of the worst tutorials I’ve ever seen for a m2 interface Instead of explaining each function of the included performer lite software of which I’ve never laid eyes on this gentleman is spending the majority of the tutorial talking about loops and instruments inside the software 😔 please hire better instructors for customers who spend their hard earned money !

Where are the rest of the industry standard live effects? I'd have an inventory of these interfaces if there were delay, graphic 31 band eq for outputs, stereo width, chorus, intonation.... Great hardware, great intuitive touch interface, just ill equipped for the live use toolbox.

David, saving the velocity edits and assigning to keyboard shortcuts is fantastic. Had no idea that existed. I've used the same technique for all my quantize settings. What a time and mouse click saver!

Is it possible to trigger Scene 1, and AFTER it plays back the number of measures in that scene, have it go to Scene 2 and just park there in a loop until I manually Trigger next Scene. Also is it possible to add automation of fades and panning to individual clips within the scene? E.g. I want volume automation during certain clips within a scene.
