This seems like a good method but it's hard to see exactly what you're doing. How do you wrap circularly around the thumb without getting wrinkles and puckers in the straight tape?

I expected this to give zero relief but it’s surprisingly helpful. I’m so tired of wearing a wrist brace all the time but I had the tape on for 5 minutes and the pain already decreased. It kind of feels better than with the wrist brace on , at least from a short term perspective.

Would a single layer of tape add support under a wrist widget or would that be unnecessary? Basically, what you showed but in reverse - single layer of tape and real wrist widget brace over the top.

Taping is a good way! Not the easiest way in this case! 13 inches, ok but what is the width of the tape? More people are becoming victim to this syndrome and will be alone! Self application demo is needed! Thanks for the video which shows that you care about your patients!
@Islandgalwen2 ай бұрын
When you buy kt tape, it’s normally the same width with every brand unless you’re using one that is specifically used for a certain area like the back.

Ive got this in both hands, pretty bad to, all but my pinky ringers bend when I bend my thumb, it made it impossible to make the boyscout salute, I tried to play piano, but that just hurt and pissed me off, I can play drums and guitar though, I wear cowboy boots, because I can tie my shoes, but it can be difficult at times, especially when its cold out, so I just forgo laces entirely except for my hiking boots which need them.

When comparing injured and non-injured hands, is there a standard of significance of an increase in edema after performing physical activity? For example, would a 5% increase from pre to post activity be considered significant?

I have a very limited dorsiflexion from old ankle injuries. Can this help? How would I use it there. Permanent swelling on lateral aspect of ankle joint. Do hours of PT foot exercises a week for years now. Want to avoid surgery if possible. Is it like Graston Technique? There are no Graston therapists anywhere near me 😥

The collars and washers will be setup differently for the Assembly portion depending on the client's hand dominance. That way, the client's hand are not crossing over one another, as was seen in the video.
@crisramsey67574 ай бұрын
The leading hand should always be the one picking up and the follower hand should always be the one turning when doing the turning test. It appeared to be done backwards in the video until the last row.

I have almost no MCP flexion in my right thumb, as though the joint were stone. I have around 5 - 10 degrees of flexion that I can induce, either manually, or during composite thumb flexion where I make it only half way to the distal palmer crease (comparatively I have around 45 degrees of MCP flexion on my left thumb and can reach the distal palmer crease). I first noticed issues applying and maintaining thumb pressure while gripping computer mice, and now can't un-notice it. I fail foments sign tests for ulnar nerve obstructions, compensating with IP flexion to perform gripping tasks. If it were an ulnar nerve issue, would that effect my ability to bend the joint manually with my off hand (maybe the joint stiffening over time from lack of use?), or just my control over the muscles responsible for flexion, leaving the joint free to manipulate? I possibly remember MCP pain and stiffness during and after bike riding as a child, though I haven't thought much of that until now. I'm suspecting extrinsic MCP tightness, but have annoyingly also experienced symptoms of an ulnar nerve obstruction, such as, clawing of the resting hand, occasional dorsal numbness, and resting pinky CMC hyperextension, which may or may not be entirely unrelated to my thumb MCP flexion issues. I'm going to have to see a doctor, I know, I just can't help but want to work it all out for myself in the meantime 😅
