One year later. I bought one of these for $717 at a Dillards. And it rocks. The bracelet is honestly the best I’ve ever worn. Better than any bracelet under $1,000. Will eventually try the nato tho.

I love it, and I have a soft spot for Bulova. But I wish they would be more consistent. They have two different types of font - at least - across their watch range, and one some, like this one, they choose not to put their logo on the dial. That's crazy because it's one of the most recognisable logos in the industry. I'm also disappointed that this features their amazing Precisionist "engine" which gives you the sweep second hand, but on this model they chose to use a sub dial for the seconds so the best feature of the 262KHz movement is lost. Sub dial hands look a little cheap too. My only other concern is that the glass sits on top of the case, so is susceptible to damage. Sapphire is very scratch resistant but still brittle and liable to get chipped on the edges. Also not sure if they use an AR coating on this, it doesn't appear to on the reviews I've seen and it is something missing on a lot of their models, and not just the cheapest ones. It's a great looking watch, I know I'm nitpicking and they may be minor gripes but enough of them to hold me back on this one. I might pick up a decent used one at some point.

Dont like the Silver subdial hands, it makes this watch look cheap. The white dial appearance small compared to the original black Lunar Pilot dial that blands with black inner bezel. The hand readability of the black lunar pilot is much better. I have both watches i prefer black dial

Never too late, I think this is the perfect time as a lot of sneakers are more available and cheaper now than a few years ago. My all time favorite is the AJ1 low OG. That's what I would recommend, followed by the dunk. Appreciate you watching 🤙

Great video Today is 6/11/24 I’m just browsing reviews because I just got the Giorgio Galli limited edition S1 that I bought from someone. It was the only one I found for sale in many different websites and apps. I just found out about this watch like a couple weeks ago, so when I went on Timex website and saw it “sold out” I was sad and started looking for it on resell. I feel very fortunate to have found one for sale a year plus later. The watch is amazing and will not be selling it. The gold and black looks amazing. I wish I could past pics to show.

I wonder who first called it the blackout Explorer back in 1989/1990. I’m going off topic for a moment. Back in 1989 my junior year of HS in Chicago. House music was the music most Chicagoans/kids grew up with. In the DJ community and nightlife scene there was a dance track by Lil Louis called Blackout. It was a Chicago underground club classic. What made this elusive track more special was that it was a very limited pressing at the time. It was soooo difficult to find and many DJs from other cities would pay over $300 - $800 bucks just for a copy. Even for us Chicago DJs it was difficult to find. At first it wasn’t a big deal but when it’s hard to get everyone wants it. Blackout was released inn1989. Lil Louis is a Rolex guy, and owns an Explorer 36mm. So I wonder if the name and song title had any connection hence the title Blackout? I would recommend going down a half size if you're looking for a true to size feel and fit. They do run about half a size big.

no, in my view, the actual model has not a better movement. in fact the caliber 3230, compared to the previous caliber 3130, is equipped with an unserviceable spring-barrel. in order to gain more power reserve (up to 70 hours) they made de walls of the barrel so thin that this part is broken if you try to open it...
