Yes. I pulled it out. And turned the silicone washer upside down. That worked. All good information. 👍👍👍

I also brought a battery except the terminals are just slightly larger than the ones in the box so wondering if I could grind them down a whisker? But replaced it with a borrowed new battery and it’s still beeping and flashing.

Thankyou, I could hear water cutting in for a few seconds, process of elimination I realised it was the toilet, it was such a slow leak, must have caught it very early, but it’s fixed now, thankyou

Thank you for the video. I'll give it a try. Is there a particular order to remove and reconnect the terminals? (i.e. remove Black first; reconnect Red first etc.)

If I twist this thing with any more force, it’s gonna snap. POS.
@CT-vm4gf5 ай бұрын
Haha, got it. If yours won’t easily twist off, grab hold of the unit from the bottom and twist instead of at the top.
@xj3585 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing how to remove this part with a firm twist. Just replaced with the exact same seal pack from Bunnings which have now increased by 18% over the last 3 years to $7.08.
@TheKealf9 күн бұрын
Wow, that's highway robbery. I should note that flipping the seal to the non bubble side could work as well as pointed out by some people in the chat!

Just some feedback, the part that people want to see is the detail of how to unclip the struts and you can't really see that in your video. You sorta did something that we couldn't see and then they just came out...

Perfect thank you! Fixed one issue I had! Don't forget to clean any bits of old rubber in the bowl from the old washer or it may still leak 😊 The other issue for anyone in a similar situation was my float switch (the white thing on the right) had come loose, but was as simple as re-inserting the prong into the hole on the left hand side 😊
@blackrhino449 ай бұрын
This is brilliant thanks! Worked exactly as shown.

So it turns out I bought the washer for the older cisterns 😶 Turns out removing the washer a flipping it over fixed the issue 😊 ... for how long, I cannot answer that. Will be making another trip to Bunnings to get the right washer at a later date 😉

Thank god for these KZbin videos! As single mum, it saves me thousands! I’ve been putting up with my toilet leaking for over 4 years! If I had to wait for my partner to do it, it would never get done😅
@sep2x_7 Жыл бұрын
The washer in the flushing unit usually lasts up to 5 years. My current issue is with the unit on the right, the Caroma Quietflow 2 Bottom Inlet Valve, which I have already replaced about 5 years ago. I thought the leak (hissing) was due to a worn seal in the Cap Assembly. After replacing that seal, the stopping mechanism failed entirely (component which relies on buoyancy). It's gonna be another trip and $30 to Bunnings (which is still cheaper to the RRP $47.53 listed from Caroma website).

I believe the red one is for the older style. The brand at Mitre10 sell them separately where the brand at church of B seem to include both.

@TheKealf11 ай бұрын
It is usually standard. Just ask those helpful fellas in the aprons when you go to the green church of B.
@Wogmandownunder10 ай бұрын
Turns out there are 2 sizes that I know of, there is an older styles dial flush cistern and a newer one which is bigger than the old one, there maybe more \_0_/
