My X-S20 allows me to save both a JPEG and RAW of the image simultaneously while using a film sim, so I do that in most cases. It's really fun and a nice guide for how I want the final edit of a photo to turn out :)

Also X-S20 user here. What I don't like is, that when a recipe requires me changing the white balance. Introduce reds or yellows or so. This also influences the RAW and is sometimes hard to get rid of.

I agree , I used to only shoot jpegs with my x100v and then looking back there are a good amount of photos I wish I had the raw format . Shooting fine plus raw is just more memory space so now I just stick with raw . We often forget the real quality our little fujis have. I do like to just keep a few recipes to visualize an edit or “ feel “ to a frame but keep shooting raw.

I always tell myself I'm going to use Film Sims then I just edit the RAW file with whatever I'm feeling at that time.

currently I rock a sony a7iv with the tamron 28-75 for any work related stuff, and then for my own stuff I use a fujifilm x100F or some film cameras 👌

Always over expose higher ISO expired film. 100 ISO would have been good to schoot it at or even 50.

Beautiful colors! And I love how dark and rich the photos you took are. What recipe are you using? The photo with the chairs ...how did you capture that? Shutter priority? Auto with -EV?

No recipes for me, i personally never use them. and shot with aperture priority but spot metering on the highlights since it was super bright in there. 👌

I’ve been worried about this too. And from experience, Ektar 100 inside and outside the camera is perfectly fine going through the scanner. I’ve done it 4 times. But I’m not sure about 400 speed films. I would assume it’s okay; anything above that, I wouldn’t risk it

Suggestion: just get an older Fujifilm x100T or an even older one. I still use it for professional shoots - I know it's not the best and the AF is really a 50/50 hit and the UI is horrendous... But if you're getting a Fuji, it's likely for travelling and NOT for professional/sports photography. I'd say most Fuji X series cameras are designed to slow you down and focus on the shot and not just adding another number to your shutter count. And if you're worried about ISO and noise, just don't 🤷♂️ of course, depends on your needs but the grain from a high iso from Fujis are just so so beautiful. Kinda like a film camera.

I recently bought a used x-h1 for 1/3 of the price of a used x-100V, the prices for the x100 series is out of this world. Also the used combo of x-h1 and xf 33mm 1.4 costed me 2/3 the price of a used x100V!
