Do you have other videos... this was exactly what I go through at least a hundred times a day... I'm med resistant...I show this video to my care givers each time a new care giver is assigned to me

It is a better idea to record a person having a seizure or an animal having a seizure. Because then you can take that video on your phone and show the Doctors or paramedics what is going on. Instead of trying to remember what has happened. And them asking you questions like how long was the seizure and what was the symptoms of the person or animal was having the seizure. So if a person or animal is having a seizure record it or have another person record it so you have a record of it to show Doctors and nurses or paramedics incase you forget a symptom or the duration of the seizure.

Thank you for mentioning your triggers. I am dealing with my son who is seven and having these types of seizures. They seem to last quite a long time compared to yours but the other symptoms are the same. Thank you for this demonstration ❤

I know this was posted 7 yrs ago but I've been watching a few of these types of videos lately. I have been diagnosed with seizures within the last 10 yrs. I've so far had a few different types, including grand mal. But this, this might be my issue as of late. I'm older, so I've always thought it was just that, age. Thank you for posting this.

during absence seizures there is no time lapse. those with absence seizures, even if time has lapse say 30 minutes, for us, we don't know we had one; because the seizure started and stopped in the blink of a eye. So to know that she had these seizures she had one or both of these two things: 1. these seizures she had to watch the video to figure out if she was actually having seizures and where they were 2. have someone off camera watching her to tell her when these seizures happened.

How do u know when absience seizure occurs an that its not just daydreaming? Do u feal some pain or disconfort?
@Zeekarts
@Zeekarts 9 күн бұрын
You don’t know. People actually remember day dreaming but with absence seizures you’re completely unaware what’s happening and don’t feel it.

I'm seeing this in my 3 month old granddaughter. She will be crying for something, then it's like a button is pushed and she is not moving, no facial expressions, and she is staring wide eyed. I told my friend who was there that she was asleep with her eyes wide open. Then slowly she closed her eyes and she was asleep. I told my daughter when she came home that I thought she was having a seizure and my daughter doesn't believe me even though she and her husband have seen this themselves. They call it "zoning out". Has anyone ever heard of a such a thing in a 3 month old?

What is going on in your thoughts when these happen? How do you differentiate from say daydreaming as opposed to having a seizure? Happy for anyone who suffers to answer x

When i have my absences, i forget what i am talking about, or what the other person is saying to me, thankfully when i recover, my first words are "What was i saying?" So that's kind of a help to me. I hope your meds have been controling your epilepsy and keeping it at bay.

I’m worried about my daughter. This video shows how subtle it can be, looks like she’s just pausing for a moment to think of what to say or like she’s distracted. My daughter will be 12 this year and so far has not had any motor skill functions or learning disabilities that i can tell but she is having anxiety and some depression now due to social anxiety and bullying in the past. She was born with partial agenisis of the corpus callosum due to a lipoma growth right above and in center of it. She has some focal areas of cortical dysplasia and dilated posterior lateral horns. She says she sometimes “zoned out” i asked if she sees or feels anything weird but she says no. She’s been under the care of a neurologist since she was born due to the brain findings on ultrasound while i was pregnant but they never found any symptoms in her so eventually a neurosurgeon gave us the ok to no longer monitor her by a neurologist every year or continue annual or every few year MRIs. But now she’s more quiet, reserved and the last few years when we are talking will ask me when and how we started this conversation. I don’t know if I’m making this up in my head and she’s fine or something like this could be happening. If it’s always been normal to her how would she know it’s not? The neurologist never found anything wrong despite her unique brain structure.

It sounds like you are describing an *Atonic Siezure.* These seizures a characterized by a sudden loss of muscle tone for around fifteen seconds. If this is not a seizure, you could be describing an event known as *cataplexy* in which there is also sudden loss of muscle tone, but not as the result of an electrical disorder of the brain and is often associated with up to 70% of cases including *narcolepsy.*

I think a child I tutor has this. Seeing this seems exactly like what I experience with this child almost every day. Child's neurologist ruled out absence seizures, but I swear to you I see this regularly, especially when child is anxious, tired or didn't sleep well.
